These last two games have seen a welcome return to true, effective forward play. Two young lads in John Grant and Kelvin Langmead have shown true class. Excellent target men, both can head the ball, trap it, hold off big defenders, bring the midfield into play. Both of these lads deserve great credit for the improved overall performances we have seen from the team in these last two games.
Everywhere you looked today there was quality of play, great teamwork, ambition and industry. If this is the result of Gary Peters approach to players than give him a 10 year contract. We have found our Dario Gradi!
Great credit to Dave Ridler coming in to the back four to replace the injured Walton. He and Tinno were outstanding. Ashton and the incredible Whitehead were sound and gave support going forward.
Sammy ran his heart out. Good to see him on the field for 85 mins. Frightened the life out of the Gas. Tolley and Sedge were terriers in midfield and what can we say about Dave Edwards? Great prospect. MOM.
And let us not forget Scott Howie,a spectator for large parts of the game but he made a brilliant save in the first couple of mins and another later on in the first half.
I am a very satisfied supporter tonight. Bring on Yeovil. We have nothing to fear and who knows they could fear us!

Class performance today....chuffed to bits having missed the 4-0 on Tuesday. Edwards, Tolley, Grant and langmead were outstanding. In fact the whole team were, not one can be faulted for effort and determination. Definately made the sober NYE so i could drive up from London this morning very worth while......i am very optimistic for 2005 with Mr Peters in charge. Plenty more of that please Bring on the Yeovil!!!!

Another excellent summary by Mysticsdad Langmead is excellent, although how the ref didn't send him off for his involvement in that clash is anyone's guess , he had a right swing at their lad. Grant had another great game and you can see how he is obviously a confidence player. Held the ball up well, good header for his goal, and a lovely ball to Edwards for the first. Defence looked very solid apart from a couple of times in the first half where Rids had a couple of slips, where lack of match practise showed but he was solid for the rest of the game - Tinno back to something near his best and Sedge offered good protection. An excellent win - confidence high going to Yeovil, they are flying having beaten the Jacks at the Vetch today but who knows? - I'll take a draw now though

Is this the same Grant that was always referred to as "a donkey" after signing but before he kicked a ball for us, a regular occurence on these pages?.

Whitehead effectively played like a wing back today! It was almost like watching Mossy, Ashton looks comfortable in what I feel is his 'proper' position, Edwards has now burst on the scene in exactly the same way like Tolley did by scoring his first two goals in successive games over the Xmas/New Year period a few seasons back. The last two home games have quite simply, been a joy to watch, it feels good to be a Shrewsbury Town supporter again
