Just listening to Ian Atkin's comments on Radio Bristol - main jist as follows:- 'Shrewsbury to strong, to physical, to powerful'. 'Shrewsbury better team and deserved to win'. 'Shrewsbury won the battles - fair play to 'em' Great phone in after the game:- Radio man: 'So what do you think of Rover's performance today?' Supporter: (Strong Bristolian accent) 'Absolute CRAP!!!'

I hope some of the people who were slagging off Atkins earlier this week read that link. For someone like Atkins to say that post match carries some weight. Fair play to him, I can't see any excuses in their at all.

Typical Atkins side, quick to dive in, slow to get up, happy to roll around on the ground.

My point is he hasn't slagged off the pitch, he hasn't blamed the ref and he hasn't made excuses for his side losing today. He appears to have made an honest assessment of the game.

Hmmm Atkins plays politics Ex local hero comes backs, abused by the medium of song, realises his popularity is not as cast in iron as he thinks and thus says some nice things to put people on his side again!
