At the age of ( nearly ) 75 and after watching football and Shrewsbury Town FC for many , many years I shouldn’t be at all surprised at that result . As the majority of Bluenoses would say “ s**t happens . But this has stretched my imagination to its limit . The way we have been playing this season I thought surely not but perhaps a point maybe . What is it with a new manager , is it there tactical nous , their man management , their ability to get a group of players to buy into their way of playing , to change their mindset . Who knows . But what I do know is that is an absolutely bloody brilliant result for us . Unfortunately I couldn’t go today , bugger , and I couldn’t get anything on radio Shropshire either so daft as it may seem I’ve been stuck on my iPad watching the live text . I know some may think what a sad old t**t but when I switched to B&A match thread I almost had a heart attack - 11 bloody minutes ! Does the ref feel sorry for them . Anyway , brilliant result and I’ll be reading posts on here to get a better understanding of our overall performance . I’m mentally whacked out now but great result GA and the players and of course our dedicated supporters . Keep the faith . 👍

Today's result can not be under-stated. We have just (pretty comfortably) beat the best team in the league. We should not be scared of anyone going forward.

Well done, every Town player that set foot on that pitch today. A titanic effort. The standard has been set. Well done to the new management team, what a brilliant start. And well done Mickey Moore and Mr Chairman once again for making it happen. I haven't feel this good about a Town result for a long time. Genuinely excited about the future now. How quickly things can change since that horrible performance and low point at Burton.

Wow that was amazing. Totally different team then what happened against burton. Garath Asinsworth I love him already, great to watch on touchline. We played with passion. I'm still emotional about that, great win and great day. And to think I thought we would lose 5-0

Today town have done something they have failed to do for most of the season, they worked hard, pressed the opposition, showed determination and aggression, scored first and got a second to give themselves some breathing room, and when Birmingham scored the second goal there heads did not drop. A remarkable transformation , it is very early days crucially they must maintain this level and be consistent if we are to not be religation

Closing the opposition down for 100+ minutes!
Dynamic breaks and overlapping runs!
No second-half collapse!
Streetwise application of the dark arts!
Roll up, roll up, the Ainsworth show is in town!
Bravo!

The new manager and the team got nearly everything right today. (Savin's distribution speed and direction apart) Great effort. Where were the rest of fans ? - quite a few missed a classic. Agree with Pilch - that game is also in my top 10 all-time from town. Great scenes at the end. AP was absolutely immense. Toto also had a good game. The midfield were highly competative for a change. Bloxham doubled his paper value in one match. Proper striker's sliding I'm getting there first 'finish'
Luca Hoole running out 80 yards with the ball through about 5 foul tackles to get it upfield and clear the late pressure, summed the performance up in one move. Brilliant stuff.

Quite the week. Unfortunately couldn't make it but delighted with the win. Gone from struggling to give a s**t towards the end of Hurst's tenure to feeling like I was going to have a heart attack during added time today.
A week ago I thought we were definitely down but we could build something under Ainsworth in Div 4 next season and come back stronger. Now, with the takeover news and this performance, I feel like it's possible we won't need to take the step down at all. Got to try and reel in all those teams in the bottom half of the table, to keep as many involved in the relegation scrap as possible.

On the way to the match I was listening to Kate Bush. I decided to make a deal with God and I just knew that something good was gonna happen. Then the match started, we didnt give up and I thought WOW!

Brilliant game for us. Anyone know the attendance figure? Not exact figure - very noisy at the end but it was upwards of 7800 with 1600 Bluenoses.

Mesmerized by Ainsworths touchline performance. How could the players give anything less. I so wish he would have taken that throw in just for comedy value, it would have been well worth the yellow card I would lay money Hurst settled down today to watch us get ripped apart and instead kicked the cat before the final whistle

Great interview with Marquis and he clearly has his head screwed on. It was a joy to watch the proud Salopians yesterday cheering every tackle and everyone throw in. Games like yesterday are what its all about.

Great interview with Marquis and he clearly has his head screwed on. It was a joy to watch the proud Salopians yesterday cheering every tackle and everyone throw in. Games like yesterday are what its all about. Great team performance yesterday but Marquis was MOTM for me. GA seemed to have simplified the game for our players and told them to win their individual battles and Marquis was a constant threat on the break for us and linked up well with Bloxham.

Was that our first 2nd half goal this season? I’m sure Tom Bloxhsm would like to remind you of his 2 against Orient, and there were a few at Crawley

Marquis and Bloxham working together up front, how did Hurst miss that one?
