he has to be possibly our biggest ever mistake release, I think its was turner who released him, not quite Steve bull in reverse but we let a gem slip from our hands there
he just scored 2 fantastic goals for Plymouth v Watford tonight, 4 wins and 2 draws at home now for Rooney , he has surprised many

Wouldn't class it as a mistake, he said himself he had an attitude problem and being released into non league made him grow up. His last season with us he was loaned out to a couple of conference north clubs and did very little
He was released at the end of 2009/2010 when Simpson was in charge

We certainly seem to have let more gems go than we have found!

Andre Gray at this time was a wild boy who was almost unmanageable. He did nothing to justify keeping him on, and went on to spend a few years in non-League.
I reported on him during his time at Telford, and he was dreadful there, too. It was only when he got to Hinckley that things started to click for him and his performances took an upward turn.
We couldn't be expected to wait years on the off chance he would mature as he did. I don't see it as a failing by us at all.
