Some very astute comments about fans who can have unrealistic expectations about the recruitment of a new manager though I think most of it is down to wishful thinking (and I often fall into that category). What the club needs at the moment is an injection of both positivity and professionalism and Ainsworth's public persona and coaching skills can provide that. What he can achieve results-wise with the present squad remains to be seen and as a betting man I would say we are still definitely long odds on to be relegated. The 18 month contract is a bit of a concern because, as you say, Ainsworth's record is one of gradual building-up of a club in the long term but there may well be an element of the supposedly imminent takeover of the club dictating that or perhaps Ainsworth himself not wanting to commit long-term until he knows the club better.
