I'm generally a lurker these days - but very sad to see how this board has died on its feet in recent times... it used to be really informative, interesting and a good place to vent - even if folks didn't agree with one another. the viewing/interaction stats show it has been on a downward spiral since the creation of the political sub board someone kept saying it would kill the board I really don't think that's the issue. Not one person has mentioned that. |

As a long time lurker, as posting on here was more than my then job was worth 😉... This place is nowhere near what it used to be, it used to be fun, like...really good fun, the posts were akin to pub chat, silly little nonsense, but fun... however, and this is only from reading, it's been on a horrid downward spiral, often at the hands of a sole person, evidently with some sort of problem against anyone who isn't them, a mere difference in opinion results in them being hounded with sarky comments, or replied to with a quoted comment they posted in 2008 .... quite frankly bizarre, and it's such a shame, as this place used to be one of the best lower league forums about, yet the issues manifested to such an extent some wonderful, fantastic people had enough, and ditched the place.
It's actually very disheartening.
The introduction of the new place is truly a breath of fresh air, seeing some of the names, and their posts is brilliant, and harks back to a better time.
There is room for two forums, but the way this place is going, I can only see there being one going forward.

Just tried to take a peep at Salopchat but I can't gain access yet as I was obliged to set up an account (Visitor mode not accepting me). I don't really see why we need two chat sites - but will get my head around this eventually, I guess.

It is a disagreement between a few. They are all right in their own heads. Put them in a room on their own and they will still argue. I hope they don't all leave B&A I enjoy reading the txt. In the mean time I will wait for the least strong to rejoin me on this forum

Ffs this is getting pathetic. Real play ground crap. Can we be adults? it was a joke pughy, I messaged Davy C the other night to say ive been messaged by the admin several times, and was going pop up the compulsory post pretending I had been harassed by the admin just so he'd have to reply pleading it was not harassment but good intentions sorry for that pughy but it was on my bucket list to be on the other side of that one day ;-) anyway im off to swim with dolphins next |

Then again I did join the X-odus to Bluesky so it's no bother to change.
Not sure I can be fussed to keep up with two boards covering the same ground though.

In fact it was to remove tensions that had existed for a long time between members including moderators and admin. Trying to sort out that tension had just escalated the position. A couple of things. Everyone’s welcome on salopchat and despite posts on here no one applying has been declined. Fact! One only was questioned between us due to an STFC e mail address but we decided to accepted without further questioning. Theres also been 2 who appear on a list of IP address on a spam register. A quick message of welcome, explaining that they appear on the list and that was it, as long as they cause no problems they’re welcome. 🤗 At Pilches request on his original post on here we’ve removed any reference to him and will continue to do so even if no rules are broken, we just want peace. Last night after talking with Tarporley and myself Stuttgart reached out due to the posts on here naming both Martin Jamo and a joke about JT yet were criticised about posts mentioning Pilch, understandably….. The message he sent is shown below so you can judge if it’s a demand or harassment. The reply didn’t address the question so the question part was repeated. I can post it all here but wouldn’t without permission from both parties. Hopefully we can just now continue in peace as we all follow the same club and who knows maybe some sort of social sporting challenge B&A v salopchat next year? Hi Pilch,

And to help in that, I think it would be best if we refrain from causing any additional animosity when it comes to content on either board that references the other board or its members.
Many football clubs have more than one forum. In addition to these message boards we have Town fans debating things on Twitter, Facebook and other social media sites. All can get on with their own thing, continue to grow and provide a great place for fans to come together to discuss Town. B&A has been going years, its very much part of the fabric of Town, its good to hear you will not delete the forum as there really is no need to do so.
So the message here is really that we should just move on with things. We will continue to moderate Salopchat and press users not to reference B&A, we would kindly ask you to do the same and refrain from posting anything on here relating to Salopchat and its members. Is that OK, do you agree?

It certainly won’t be a case of rejoining B&A as most of us are still posting the occasional item. I have to say though that is nice not to have crap from North East Wales rammed down our throats on there. |

It certainly won’t be a case of rejoining B&A as most of us are still posting the occasional item. I have to say though that is nice not to have crap from North East Wales rammed down our throats on there. All those campaigns about not being able to block me and yet someone you could block you never did and spent most of the week taunting him with abuse ( and not once did he ever bite ) As admin I treated everyone the same here and tried to prevent the abuse I should have done what the new board does and like it Except I didn't as I have principles I warned him several times , especially about his tenous 'sexist' remarks how's it going just a gypsies for you we recently added a few mods and have a forum that only we can see and comment on,not a lot on there but a couple of the new ones are eager to ban someone and keep going on about sexist posts from the wrexham bloke maybe just go easy mate, please refrain from emphasising the sex of the referee that you prefer, it bothers several of our members and we have to respect this, there really is no need, maybe an apology would earn you some respect too and also I banned him at one point  and if anyone wants to ask davy c im sure he will tell you that this chap who claims hes from wrexham has one thing in common during his 21 years of post, his ip address is alwaysfrom a little place in Wales called wrexham ( even when he pretends hes sat next to an exotic terrace glass in hand ) more fool those who got wound up and taken in by it sorry to burst the bubble, but poor old noto is a wrexham fan from wrexham I did once know his name as I used to chat with him back in 2002 on the old rival forum and actually ddi some photoshop graphics for him on his own wrexham fc website which he begged me not to reveal was his and I never did, its no longer is active but it was called ONTTSS.co.uk (one nil to the sheep shaggers apparently ) after this heart warming thread he started during covid my guess is he works for the NHS, possibly nights blueandamber.proboards.com/thread/100263/shrewsbury-town-lost-special-fanI always said offline the fun would stop when wrexham one day took over us in the league and there we have it, it happened thats all I have to say on the noto matter like me he is a survivor ;-) |
