Looks like there was some activity of the salopchat thread which has since been deleted.

Why was it deleted and more pertinently is this board now going to close and if so when? 

Any chance that if you're stepping down Pilch that you'll move it on to the new (old) guys on the other forum so that everything is not lost? This place has a lot of history- away games, fanzines, fund raisers, podcasts and obviously dear Glyn Price. It's part of a clear lineage that dates back to the mid 90s back so think it would be criminal for what is essentially a community asset to be lost because of personality failings and fall outs.

B&A has been a lifeline for me over the last two/three years. I don't always agree but always listen. I hope it continues

Plenty of room for other forums and if some want to move there, then bye bye, you will be missed. Many, I expect, will want to be on more than one message outfit and will keep their ID on here.

There's room for all sorts of diverse, cantankerous posters on here, long may it continue.

Totally agree, I've been here for 21 years, and before that was on the Rivals board and before that on the stfc email list, in total going back about 30 years. There's plenty of space for lots of different places to chat about all things STFC, so why on earth would this place be closed. No idea who's 'in charge' so to speak but if they're looking to step down I'm sure there'd be no end of willing volunteers who'd be happy to take over.

I mostly just read B&A. Commenting on everything every day is fine but for us lurkers we enjoy reading the content. So a quiet week or two is no problem. The team are experiencing a re-start, so maybe we are too.
I hope to be reading B&A for many years to come.

Thanks for the feedback and the many messages , I appreciate the comments and of course this forum will remain open as I'd hate to spite those who still want it for the actions of those who don't

It nice to see the new forum ticking along with nobody sniping ,no anti town threads , no micky Moore baiting , no steve cotterill fishing , threads still disappearing but at least without new threads asking why lol , shame they couldn't have done that here 😝 it's nice and jolly well apart from sniping at you know who , but at least I don't have to deal with that s**t any more , I just report it to proboards and give someone else the hassle 👍

I will have my say in time and reveal why certain people were banned and why , you'll be amazed how few it actually was , and hopefully agree why but let's put that to one side for now

I can honestly say this forum was never influenced by the club ever , if people can't handle that then that's their problem , and if they cannot handle opinions about the club that differ to theirs then that's not my problem either

If defending the club I love breaks rules then I am guilty as charged

a big shout out to our chairman , a potentially great manager appointed this week , he continues to pile cash into the club and i messaged the club to say it was a good appointment and well done , and cheekily tried to find out about the sale , i was told at this moment in time the deal is still going through and the buyers are currently doing a thorough job with their due diligence
It would be such a fitting farewell if our chairman leaves us in the hands of someone capable of filling his shoes

I would much prefer the status quo with all its occasionally annoying posts. I certainly wouldn’t want anything linked to a social media platform.

The hard work put in by Pilch and others is much appreciated.

I tend to try and go on other clubs forums a week or two before they are due to play us just to find out what's going on with them and what the general mood is of their fans. I usually find that there is more than one forum so don't really see a problem with another one for town.Its all about the opinions of those of us who think we know better than the management. Some are very interesting and entertaining, some aren't. Read or ignore is the choice we all have. Plenty of room for all.

So last night i read a thread on there and almost convinced myself I was noto , some detective work
In great detail explaining how it's me lol

I will give my reply on here and reveal who noto might me later this week , watch this space 😉

And then the footy I was watching was interrupted by stutty the admin harassing me with pms demanding I remove all traces of Salop chat from blue and amber ( lol where ) and he'll do likewise On there , he could not quite grasp my reply of remove the dozens of digs at someone first and then return , ended up having to ban him after the 7th repeated message in the space of a few minutes

We set up the new board without meaning any harm to B&A or anyone connected to B&A. In fact it was to remove tensions that had existed for a long time between members including moderators and admin. Trying to sort out that tension had just escalated the position. I’m personally a member on both and feel no animosity to any one on either. I’m also on Twitter and three STFC Facebook groups……

Im posting this as others don’t have the right to reply like Stutty who’s been banned for some time and now again.

A couple of things. Everyone’s welcome on salopchat and despite posts on here no one applying has been declined. Fact! One only was questioned between us due to an STFC e mail address but we decided to accepted without further questioning. Theres also been 2 who appear on a list of IP address on a spam register. A quick message of welcome, explaining that they appear on the list and that was it, as long as they cause no problems they’re welcome. 🤗 

At Pilches request on his original post on here we’ve removed any reference to him and will continue to do so even if no rules are broken, we just want peace.

Last night after talking with Tarporley and myself Stuttgart reached out due to the posts on here naming both Martin Jamo and a joke about JT yet were criticised about posts mentioning Pilch, understandably…..

The message he sent is shown below so you can judge if it’s a demand or harassment. The reply didn’t address the question so the question part was repeated. I can post it all here but wouldn’t without permission from both parties.

Hopefully we can just now continue in peace as we all follow the same club and who knows maybe some sort of social sporting challenge B&A v salopchat next year?

I'm generally a lurker these days - but very sad to see how this board has died on its feet in recent times... it used to be really informative, interesting and a good place to vent - even if folks didn't agree with one another.

It will be again.  Things evolve with time, some decided to move on.  We go on, not as a mouthpiece for the club, but as a forum for support and debate that has proven to be civil and trustworthy between each other and with the club.

As soon as there is some STFC football people will probably move on, especially if it's finally entertaining (winning) football.

As another stimulus,  I'd like to see the experimental political forum brought back into the main board.
