It's been announced his contract not being renewed after this season
im a fan of his and sad about this , I don't like his top 10s due to shearer and mica Richards as they are all me me me
Im guessing mark chapman will step in , I don't mind him either

Lineker is a big hero in the part of the world I live in. I greatly admired him as a player and as a presenter he has been much better than most. However, things move on and MOTD and its usual pundits need freshening up and the BBC cannot really justify his big salary in the current climate. He is still going to present the 2026 World Cup for BBC.

I'm guessing Chapman will be substantially cheaper than Lineker.
Lineker might be a good presenter, but there is no way in hell he is worth £1.35 million a year.

Watched match of the day since I was 10 and allowed to stay up and watch it.
Des my am was iconic and I grew to love linekar.
I don’t think I’ll watch it if Alex Scott gets the job as it’s not due to her talent her appointment will be a box ticker

Mark Chapman would be an improvement on Lineka. If the BBC want a woman presenter I would much prefer Kelly Somers to Alex Scott.

I believe he's taking over from Justin Welby as the new Archbishop of Canterbury. You sure, I understood they were looking for someone with less sin against them than any of the bishops and the pay is way too low for Lineker - I believe they are currently thinking of Russell Brand. |
