What is the lowest ever away following we have ever had. Was thinking maybe Walsall on Tuesday might beat this as there is nothing to play for and in a competition that not many people like

how many do you think would have gone had the game been still alive for us ?
could be the first game for the new manager if he's here in time, that might make a few curious

Hasn't it been confirmed Sean Parrish is taking charge of this game though?

Was thinking maybe Walsall on Tuesday might beat this as there is nothing to play for and in a competition that not many people like will be 150-200 still i bet Tuesday . Lowest im not sure think we took 19 to Swansea in a Welsh Cup game in the 80s ( Martin Berry will know better ) also 24 to Newcastle in a Simod Cup game 87/88 . Not sure if these are the lowest . Recent years we took 35 to Sc***horpe EFL Trophy in 2016/17 and a similar figure vs Middlesbrough u21s same season.

Id imagine at some point we have took a sub 100 following somewhere in the league on a Tuesday night, especially if we're doing s**t or it's 2 or 3 hours travel.

Think we took 19 to Swansea for LDV trophy in 1991. We had played Torquay and Swansea and all 3 games were 1-1 so had to replay the group. We then lost 6-1 at home to Torquay (Asa Hartford was sacked next day despite us being in fa cup 4th round still ) so the Swansea 2nd game was a dead match.

Very few of us travelled to Newcastle for our bank holiday Monday game of 1983...think it was 83. Easily sub 100...one of the best away games ever that one

Definitely sub 50 when we went to Swansea on a Cold Friday in April ‘92
Pretty sure Robert Hopkins scored (maybe both) in a 2-1 win??
ExKeeper - over to you on this one….?

We played at Grimsby on the Saturday. Att 29,140. I seem to remember the locals being very generous and lobbed their spare change in our direction!! We went on train to Grimsby and walking back to station after there was a car full of Grimsby fans following us. We came across a police parked van up and when we told them the back of van flew open and 8 or so police emeraged and surrounded the car. They gave us a lift to the station and said they'd keep them there until our train left!
What fun days they were back then!!!

FLT away at Bradford a tuesday night in December 82 with the snow falling steadily all game.
0-0 at full time, 0-0 extra time. We were freezing cold on the old open kop end at Valley Parade and nothing much happening on the pitch to warm us up. No one really cared about penalties, we all just wanted to get back on a warm coach, but we finally scraped through on spot kicks.
Coach just about made it over the Pennines where the snow was thicker, only 1 lane open. A very steady drive back due to conditions, with ice forming on the inside of the windows. Football all but on hold for about 6 weeks till well into January.
Oh, the away attendance? Well there were 9 on Smithy's coach and we didn't see any others around. That has got to be my lowest ever away attendance.
Our reward was another away trip, another Tuesday night trip this time to Grimsby in January. The things you do to support your team eh.

Are we already out?
Does the group stage normally go on this long?
I don't know if it's testament to the awful season we've had but it feels like that first game against Fulham was about a year and a half ago.

Millwall in the 80s it was near Christmas and when we got to london most people got off the coach and went shopping. In the end there were more police in the escort to the match than we had in the ground. we got beat and the team coach passed us on the way home, as we had to go back to central London to pick up the happy shoppers.

Carlisle away on a Tue night years ago is a memory. Less than 100, possibly more like 50. I had to get out of school early to make the coach!

I remember going to Swindon in the late 80’s or early 90’s for one of these stupid Mickey Mouse games and there being about 20 Town fans there. One memorable moment was Micky Hazard curling in a beautiful free kick for Swindon and then getting a standing ovation from everyone when he was substituted!

I`ve been to a few sub 100. Remember Rotherham at Millmoor, think it was a cup match. Must have been about 30 odd. Seem to remember Scunny too on a midweek. 200 odd seemed like a decent following back then

Parked at the wrong end and had to run the gauntlet through disgruntled Jacks to reach the safety of the motor with locked doors.

I vividly remember a Swans fan having a go at us, before a Welsh Bobbie bellowed ‘shut your mouth you ugly moon’, followed by a hefty boot up the arse and into the back of a waiting police van!! It was literally running the gauntlet to the car!!

121 away fans
We've had this type of thread now every efl cup game for the last couple of seasons , and never been anywhere near record lows , in fact this season the group games have probably been the highest for many a season mainly thanks to the brum game
We even saw a town goal in one of them :-)
