classy statement from PH, didn't expect anything different. May not have worked out for him this time around but hes a bloody good bloke and only wanted what was best for the club.

That’s a brilliant statement from Paul Hurst.
As for his future, I wonder if it’s time to part ways with Chris Doig.

“…despite some positive performances, results proved hard to come by.”
The word ‘some’ is working its butt off in that sentence.

I heard Doig was furious they get sacked... Hardly surprising , they were tasked with producing a smooth runnjng engine on an old banger with half a tool kit of broken, rusty spanner’s.

The story is hurst turned up at the notts county cup game and offered to RW to put right the terrible football he was having to suffer watching , hurst & doig were not the messiahs they thought they were

It was a harsh sacking, I think Hurst had a right to be sour about getting sack for not performing miracles yet he still praises the Chairman.
We will never know what could have happened if Hurst stayed and we had chance to build on that wow season.

We will never know what could have happened if Hurst stayed and we had chance to build on that wow season. Big mistake was bringing back the oldies. Surely he'd spied some young non league prospects. If he had given us both half entertaining play and endeavour he'd still be there, even without a miracle.

I heard Doig was furious they get sacked... Very true! He was raging and felt that the club had given them an impossible job to do.

A clear, fair statement. We were never going to repeat what happened in 2017/18. Best of luck to Paul and Chris with their future endeavours.
