My understanding is that the additional floodlights recently erected in each corner of the ground, were put in place because UEFA deemed the existing floodlights to be inadequate for the televising of the competition in which TNS are currently involved.
I might be old fashioned, but I quite like tall floodlight pillars at each corner of the ground....even modern style ones. If our existing floodlights are not quite up to standard, then might it be a good idea to purchase the new ones and leave them in place?

They were a useful navigation aid when trying to find a new ground. The passengers would usually stick their heads and out of the car windows and have butchers for them. 👍👍

It was clear to me that Preston’s at Deepdale wasn’t great last night, seemed dark to me. They would need to be changed should they play at the highest level.
I much prefer the additional lights and be interesting to see if we are still up & allowed to use them post the UCL games.

The people who are supplying the (very) big screens have said that they can’t install them while the pylons are still there. I await confirmation on this but the difference at the Exeter game was marked. More powerful bulbs in the existing ones would help but the taller ones really should be a “must”.

I would have thought changing the current 60w bulbs to 100w bulbs is the cheapest solution ;-) well you know what I mean. ( just the bulbs)
not sure if anyone remembers Wrexhams new floodlights when we visited them recently, I wasnt entirely sure I liked them, I think I disliked them actually
if anything I'm a fan of the lights around the front edge of roofs, im guessing that would be our permanent addition if it ever happens

You wonder what local residents would think about higher and brighter lights.

I read somewhere, maybe Facebook, that the lights had come from one of the Temporary Stadiums at the Paris Olympics and would eventually end up in Milan/Cortina for the Winter Olympics in Feb 2026.

You wonder what local residents would think about higher and brighter lights. Seem to remember it was a planning condition regarding light pollution hence the existing low level lights. Hopefully no one notices or technologies improved and the lights don’t ‘spread’ as much. Agree with OP makes it look much better, can we add it to the upgrade list for the new owner 🤔

The new lights weren’t used for the recent England Ladies u23 game, and the difference was marked. If we don’t get to keep them, we should try and make ours brighter, but of course it’s all costs
