I’m probably going to get slated for this but it’s really sad to see so many town fans who seem to have given up the fight already. Coming into this season it was obvious we were going to be scrapping for our lives, the league hasn’t just shifted up a gear, it’s shifted up 2 or 3 gears. I’d be amazed if we haven’t got the smallest budget in the league, and also the financial situation we have been left in means we have had to cut our cloth to safeguard the club. The fact is we have been here before many times, the situation has been worse than this but we will only have a chance to survive by the fans sticking with us. We are in an out and out dog fight to stay up, one of which we are underdogs in, so let’s try and fight our way out of it, if we are going to go down let’s go down swinging and proud of our club and town. Can't imagine anyone would slate you for supporting the club. Admittedly I'm very defeatist about this season, I get the whole budget argument, I do. That Bristol rovers team we just played though were very poor - if we can't even get a point (although thats probably the linesmans fault) then I think the writing is on the wall. In situations like ours with a budget like ours you need to maximise every single thing you can, and quite frankly I don't think the club has done that. The signings didn't seem to follow a plan - as someone else alluded to we now have wingers on the bench which don't fit this new 5 at the back. We signed another CM on deadline day when it was obvious the defence was our weakest point. Hursts tactics during games are driving me crazy, his substitutions are often when the game is already gone. We would need everything going our way to stay up this season and after 13 games I think it's clear the club as a whole (Scouting, transfers, tactics) isn't capable of staying in league one. But saying all that... I will be there on Saturday vs Barnsley praying to see us getting some points...

Unfortunately I think your post reflects the mind set of the management team and players as well as fans resulting in low confidence and lack of self belief. Need much more positivity from the club and maybe the fans will follow. It’s been doom and gloom for 18 months, rubs off on the team, they sort of expect to lose cos they hear things like ‘smallest budget’ and ‘we are underdogs’ which gives them an excuse. Need to change the tune to get some positivity in the club’ team and supporters. A win would help.

Somebody said we had 3 half chances. That’s a rubbish statement. Marquis was one on one with their keeper which is not a half chance, he simply hadn’t the ability to get round him. The crossed ball for Lloyd to tap in was a full on chance. He over runs it and got his feet in a twist, it was easier to put that full on chance on the net. Someone else said don’t blame the defense. The defence is a combination of midfield and back line. We did not close down their players to stop them going forward. The passing was appalling to the extent that bad passing set them up to attack. The basics are not there and the shape is not there. Young and Marquis are not good enough. And I agree the subs should have come on after 55mins and when eventually they did it changed the way we played and gave us the goal which should have stood. Then it’s a case of where blame for all this should be laid. The first port of call is coaching. If that is done correctly then it’s for then players to perform to basics and shape. If the players don’t accede to the coaching and basically don’t perform the players are not good enough. If someone tells me I’m wrong then they do not know what they are talking about. I rest my case.

The performance stunk of desperation. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't win now for the rest of the season.

Well when we play Burton, perhaps they'll finally get their 1st win of the season.
Nailed on for relegation despite their new owners.

If Barnsley have got anything like half decent strikers..... we're in big trouble....from the first game until last night...the defence haven't learnt one iota 🤷🤷

Speaking to this, I hated the social media videos we put out in August showing a compilation of pundits saying we would get relegated. What on earth was the thinking there? It was meant to be galvanising. However: Either we get relegated, and everyone outside the club was right all along. Or we don't get relegated, and all we have done is to say to our own fans that the height of our ambition is to not get relegated. Madness.

Rovers got in some great positions but we defended well for the majority of the game. Even the goal wasn't a defensive mistake. Bit of fortune and a tidy finish. Some s**te finishing and decision making in the final 3rd was our downfall. It's getting to the point where we need a clean sheet to get anythibg from the game which is a lot of pressure for the defence.

I question whether Hursty can motivate them properly. There’s no hard running and closing down. Some players just seem to jog along. The movement is poor. This is why I think we need another manager. I know we could get more out of these players. We could do with a manager with real desire on the touchline who really gets the players at it.

Same as you. Ok seen as good A1 chances they were squandered. The rest of my comments still stand. And I would say choose your words, unless you want a slanging match on here.

I never read the rest of your comments , I’m all for choosing my words carefully; it’s just too bad you seem to prefer throwing tantrums instead of having an actual discussion by the way town had 10 corners last night, that doesnt happen by accident at an away game

I said to my Brummie mate I can see us not winning a game this calendar year I bet Cambridge fans were saying that 10 days ago. I don’t know what you are so defeatist, things can change very quickly. Not saying they will but a couple of wins would change the picture massively. We’ve played better the last 2 games and are not getting hammered every week. I’m glad you are not in the dressing room.

I'm very happy to be proven wrong and I always hope we play well and win but without the salop tinted glasses on and some realism added it's hard to say when we may win one, Salford lower team usually be more up for the cup games and Cambridge now on a run going to be hard
