Ten £1 paperbacks from a charity shop. Twenty if there's a 50p bargain bucket.

A whole £10 , well that’s going on a £1 patent with £ 3 left to buy me a juicy meat pie .🥧 It’s what I call living the high life . Much better than wasting it on the National Lottery where I’ve won absolutely fook all week after week , don’t know why I bother really .

With a headless centre forward and a goalkeeper with no arms? Just like the real team Always thought that Subbuteo goalkeepers should have had a circle of plastic around them to give some sort of chance of stopping a goal. They where absolutely useless. Who remembers the early version were the keeper was in a squatting position and wearing a flat cap?😄 Thought they missed an opportunity, surely a keeper leaning against a goal post smoking a Woodbine would have completed the set?😉

The short plastic rods made that much more difficult. Having said that, ‘in off the rod’ from a misdirected cross was quite common with the wire rods. If I remember correctly, a team cost 9/6 from a shop in those days so that’s roughly 20 teams for your tenner!
