They brought quite a few last season on a Tuesday night. I guess we haven’t played them at home on a Thursday since the great night in 1979 when we won the Div 3 Championship- the greatest day in our history. Same score please! and to think we went behind in that game and that would have meant we finished 4th and missed promotion altogether, a draw and we'd have been 3rd, but yes, best night ever in the end, I popped into xmas stockholders the other week and saw a town flag stuck on the wall of the shop floor, im pretty sure it was possibly there on that night too, blue and amber checked large flag, there ere hundreds of them

Localised flooding today and more on the way overnight, do we think there's any risk of this game not going ahead?
If it does I firmly expect to see one of the lowest home league attendances for a long time.
My prediction is it'll be announced as 4.9k but actual bums on seats probably nearer 3.5k.
Exeter not conceded in four. We've suddenly remembered where the goal is. Could be an interesting one.

After what happened at Crawley last weekend, I really hope we do continue with a back 3 and 2 up top! I know the better teams in the division will turn us over on a regular basis, but I’d rather lose 4-3 in a thud and blunder game than lose 1-0 in the usual mind numbing way!

Let's hope it's the same result tomorrow I fancy another win and 5 goals so 4-1 fits 👍 , I'm thinking 3-2 though , even a point would get us out of the drop zone even if temporarily it will be a big mental boost Come on town

I am not so sure that the Crawley result is too much of a pointer to what will happen in the Exeter match tonight apart from sustain some confidence after the Bolton game (first half performance). Crawley were poor anyway, played a significant amount of time with ten on the pitch and their young (age 12?) goalkeeper was not normally the first choice. But there was a degree of excitement when Town were attacking, so it could be a great evening! My sensible guess is a draw (1-1) but it could go either way. Fingers crossed for 2-0. COYB!

You could make a case to say that the EFL world may be watching us tonight. We are the only EFL match this evening and it's been 4 days since none international football has been on the TV.
We may have a good TV audience for a while this evening.Time to put on a performance, score some goals and win😃😄😁

"Shrewsbury have won just two of their last 15 home league games (D3 L10), whilst they’ve kept just two clean sheets across their prior 21 home outings combined."

King soon put things right with a second goal and an Atkins pen and a Tong goal sealed it for us. As you say all outcomes were possible (ie no promotion, just promotion or champions) but that was a team of winners who would run through brick walls for our greatest-ever manager and there was no way they were going to lose or even draw that game.

Just had a chat with George Lloyd in Abbey Foregate, looked like he was making his way to the ground. Wished him luck and he’s confident of another goal this evening. 🤩
