It's the Tory bashing all over again this , new thing every week even though the whole world new a new leader was imminent It just became a game for some or an obsession to others No doubt when we get a new leader at the meadow the moaners will then pretend everything is fine 🤩🤩 You could comment on the fact the stadium manager was tasked to look into it at the SP meeting and nothings been reported back to the fans who asked the question. Thought communication was a big thing for the club.

So the question still remains why at the end of one stand and not the others? It’s ridiculous and penny pinching to say the least and downright disgraceful to say the most.
And I will repeat that it’s got nothing to do with bashing the club, it’s a safety matter of which they should have been aware of and one they should be addressing now it has been brought to their attention by an elderly supporter who coped in the past but now sees a danger.

We will pick this back up again with the club and get some clarity on it through the Fan Engagement Panel

Thought communication was a big thing for the club. and yet you are also on the fan engagement panel and could have asked this yourself at the last or next meeting Okay can we pause on this debate in case it gets personal? And stick an anchor on this? We have to realise that there is a limit to what can be done between matches and we don't want areas taped off while building work is going on if a match is underway. Priority seems to be look at long rails up the ends, and maybe add some more grips lower down to extend the first four rows to maybe six in areas for those that worry about rain. I am assuming our illustrious colleagues in Block 19 will not need any more handrails. Then after that perhaps more, but given the number of safety checks and inspections needed, programming in for end of season start would seem to make sense. I am sure ticketing can be sympatheitc to anone wanting to move to a vacant seat one of the two thousand nearer a handrail. Clearly needs to stay on agenda at FEP and SP at the moment

Apart from asking for an anchor I agree with everything you have said.

Currently I am recovering from severe Sciatica and had to miss a few games but attended the last home fixture and require a walking stick so I appreciate this subject. Yes the other step aisles could do with a barrier down the centre but I am not sure the aisles are wide enough so may require a column of seats taken out, which is added cost and obviously brings the capacity down.

For a start while they decide yes or no! they could at least put some anti slip on the stair treads recent hip replacement (my decision not the clubs) so still careful when going down. Up not so bad but as others have said depends who walks out on you and are not looking when your descending, or slippery if wet so tend to leave with about 2 mins of extra time to go. Been in my seat at the back since the move so reluctant to move lower down as good view, friends around and dry if you don't count the Pidgeon's. Also something called the HASAW act 1974 springs to mind.

You are intitled to differ all you like, yes there is the sports ground safety act and football spectators act these are a different beast, and yes they will say that it is not reasonably practical i.e. cost against risk, but the ground and STFC as a business and employer need to be careful and ensure they have looked into it properly and are still governed by the HASAW act. I am just making my point as a concerned spectator like the others so won't go on anymore or get into an argument. I've noticed on here how it quickly gets taken out of proportion and turns into a tit for tat.
Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 "Under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, clubs must take reasonably practicable steps to ensure that spectators are not exposed to health and safety risks. Failure to do so is a criminal offence punishable by an unlimited fine.
If a fan is injured as a result of a club’s failure to prevent a known safety risk, this is likely to be an offence under the Act."
But as you say Crawley is more important and we do need a win, enjoy your evening.

This was quite a productive discussion between fans and the club.
I don't think we need to blame the fans for asking to be safer.
People do have different needs that then change based on lifestage. The issue is always there but by nature of the beast you often only feel passionate about it when it affects you or people close to you.
Not having toilets seats at the stadium didn't bother me when we moved grounds but it did when I started bringing my young daughter to games.
My Mum had a disabled space right by the ground because of chronic heart failure but when that was taken from her because she's not got a blue badge she didn't renew her season ticket. It was probably the right decision if we had more blue badge holders than spaces but Mum's only been a couple of times since.
How we make our stadium a better experience for fans is exactly what the club need to hear. It's not just music choices and types of ale.
Step by step the whole thing has got way better, like the illumination of super blues way. You can't just say " don't walk down the dark path if you know it's going to be dark" when it's a main pedestrian thoroughfare to a "state of the art" new stadium.
That's a mindset change and I'm pleased to hear the club are taking this seriously.

It was suggested to me that fans requiring assistance make their way to the far end of the stand where a complete handrail is in place. That may be possible at the 3nd of a match, but how do supporters get down to the concourse during a game. They could potentially ask scores of fans to get up to let them by. They could possibly cross one or two sets of staircases without rails on the way. The solution, as I see it, is to add more end rails, a few at a time as can be afforded. Also, a target for Super Blues funding.

Think fans have to take some responsibility and currently choose a seat that isn’t too far away from a rail but agree you couldn’t sit 20 seats along and negotiate a whole row. End rails would be the ideal solution and in reality only need to be on one side of every gangway on the ‘down side’ as the risk is falling down stairs not up. You could even limit them to every other row but no doubt experts would be consulted. No harm in positive thoughts comments and ideas here for the club to consider.
