One of the stars of that fantastic Holland team that completely reinvented football - he will be greatly missed.

I can remember him from the 78 World Cup , such a shame Cruyff missed it, rumours of his family being target for a kidnapping led him to retire, I know this isn't about Cruyff but I think the likes of Neeskens might have been a World Cup winner that year with him there
they came close in 74, heres an amazing video about the Dutch 74 side and their pressing, take note town
RIP

Sad news.
I loved that Dutch team of the 70s - Cruyff, Rensenbrink, Ruud Krol, Arie Haan, the van de Kerkhof twins, Johnny Rep (who had the coolest footballer name until Didier Six came along for France). Neeskens was such a good midfielder amongst them. Those 1974 and 1978 teams were surely the best never to have won a World Cup - they deserved better.
