Just read that Johnnie Walker is retiring due to ill health.
First DJ I ever listened to on Radio One on Saturday mornings in my teens. Best DJ ever in my opinion and occasionally listened to Sounds of the 70’s even now.

In order i would probably say Blue Label is my favourite, then Green Label and finally Red Label.

Somewhere in my rollerdeck that's my memory I recall him not being allowed to play "Boston" and "Be Bop Deluxe " so he quit. Please feel free to put me right. Both those bands are firm favourites of mine due to Johnny Walker

Both those bands are firm favourites of mine due to Johnny Walker He's had a superb career, quality DJ with impeccable music taste.😁 Pretty sure that as well as getting into trouble about who he wanted to play I seem to recall that he got into trouble over who he refused to play when he had a daytime week day show,namely people like The Bay City Rollers, Osmond's etc etc |
