Perhaps if they sack Hurst, they can go back in for Taylor, seeming that he's got a much better record than Hurst👍🤦🤦🤦 at least everyone was happy, those that supported town were happy as we were winning games, those that were against town were happy moaning about how lucky our wins were

I'd definitely be wanting to keep hold of Castledine out of all the loan players. J.Feeney as well. I think Kayode may be the one that is sent back, only because of his injury record. Didn't Hurst forfeit signing Harvey Rodgers for Gilliead and Ojo just before the window. i did not know that about Harvey Rodgers , i do remember there were rumours we were after him. whilst Ojo is doing ok ,not so sure about Gilliead . Just a rumour Zen but I think part of it was why Biggins also went to Carlisle.

Taylor was only sacked because Roland knew that Hurst was available and wanted to return.
I'm not bashing Roland here but this is a guy who spoke to Cotterill for over 20 years and look how that ended.

Grimsby fan here.
I've been keeping an eye on your results and Paul's interviews lately. I only wish Paul good luck and I hope you stay up however reading some posts it sounds like you haven't got much of a budget. League 1 looks stronger than ever now with 3 of the 4 clubs who got promoted all doing really well. Hopefully you pick up some points after the Birmingham game.
I was really disappointed when we parted company with Paul and I would have him back here instead of Artell. I know we where in the conference most of the time when he was here but I miss his gritty away wins. Also those playoff games where the best 2 weeks in 30 years of watching Grimsby, then there was the incredible FA cup run.
I hope you stick with him and you pick up.

Three clean sheets from 38 games in charge. It's an incredible, almost unbelievable record.

Three clean sheets from 38 games in charge. It's an incredible, almost unbelievable record. I think we all get you want Hurst out. Reality is whether he is here for rest of the season or not nobody will change fortunes this season. However when the ownership does change it is very likely new owners will change the coach/ manager so you will get your wish sooner or later……

But it of course doesn't mean we can't debate what a terrible record he has and whether in normal circumstances, his job would be on the line

even with such a poor squad, tactically this season Hurst has been poor, we dont have a plan B , he does not seem to be very animated on the touchline and it almost feels as if he is going through the motions. the only bright not was when we started with a new formation and went two up.

I don't want Ten Hagg. Return for Mr Mellon? Mr Askey seems to have had a decent record since the fans got him sacked too early

If we moan loud enough, do we get Askey back? Is that the way this works?

Perhaps if we moan very loud,we might get David Moyes.....well he's got good Shrewsbury connections, and will sort that s**t defence out...... perhaps!!!!!🤦🤦

I think Hurst would have had his Centre Back pairing of Toto and Josh Feeney, Toto has seriously lost whatever he had to be worth a million pounds and Josh Feeney arrived late. Its a momentum thing as well, some of the forward play has been reasonable and as good as the opposition - its definitely better than anything I saw last season. I'd urge Hurst to keep playing Castledine because he does create and take chances. He made Marquis's attempt last night and I still can't find a replay of the goal that was disallowed. Find a system by where Castledine, TOR and Sagoe Jnr can play for large parts of the game, they should be able to take teams apart. I'm hoping it starts with Crawley.

I still think we are better going with 5 at the back, and 5 in the middle not only can it confuse opposing centre halves it prevents us crossing aimless balls into the box, we have some nice tricky attacking midfielders this season capable of working the ball int the box, its worked for some top clubs in the past when they dont have an out and out striker at the ready

I agree. A 5-5-0 setup could maybe work with our willing runners. I think Lloyd could maybe do better with the ball actually at his feet running rather than challenging for aerial balls

I think Crawley play with a 3 at the back?
So I'd expect a formation similar to Bolton rather than what we all witnessed last night.
Either Nurse is dropped back into the 3 to replace Pierre, or its Nsiala back there.
