Has anyone been following this? www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c70wxdnrz4go#:~:text=The%20Peach%20Tree%20opened%20in,venues%2C%20Havana%20Republic%20and%20Century. I had a dodgy feeling about this group as they acquired quite a few places in town in a short space of time. They took over the old Severn Social which got turned into a restaurant and lasted less than 6 months, now a taxi place. They took over a nightclub by the station, had about 3 revamps before becoming an indoor golf place (no idea if it's still going) and took over the businesses down Abbey Foregate before all of them closing There's been some interesting stuff on social media with claims made about the people which certainly don't portray them in a good light. Hopefully we see someone take over the businesses down Abbey Foregate as it would be a shame to lose them

Accounts are overdue from 2023 with liabilities of £30k in 2022. Were due to be struck off as a company but suspended due to an appeal. Seem to be blaming everyone except themselves and their ability to run a business.

Having frequented several of the places they took over, it’s been really sad to see them become husks of their former selves. I’ll often give places the benefit of the doubt (even when it’s a bar not even having beer available!) but it’s now pretty obvious these guys were at the very least totally incompetent. However, some of the comments about them trying to rip off 15 year old staff amongst other things would suggest it’s a bit more than that.

The Terrace on Smithfield road has Also announced it is closing down.👎 Well , I’m most surprised . I thought it had been completely revamped and was looking forward to a profitable future . Surely if Smithfield Road is going to be pedestrianised then it was in a good position to take advantage.

I can't profess to know how to run a successful club or restaurant business and have no doubts over how hard it is in the current climate but the speed in which some of these places are coming and going is obscene.
I remember 'Hush' (formerly Severn Social) opened to much fanfare and I remember thinking at the time how much repeat business you could possibly get at an Abba themed Greek restaurant. That unsurprisingly perhaps went a few months later.
Now Terrace after a massive refurb of the outdoor area.
The one I couldn't quite believe how quickly it disappeared was the Hong Konger restaurant on Fish Street. Again, seemed to have a decent write-up in the local press and a lot of people I knew talking about it in the build up to it opening. If it lasted all of six months I'd have been surprised.

I think quite a few of these places enjoy their rates reduction for six months or whatever it is and then they struggle.
