Rather highlights just how poor the Councils finances are and that they will sell anything off to balance the books.
Of course a private company is not accountable and can raise charges to whatever level they see fit.
Strikes me that it is bad news for drivers and businesses in the town centre

Strikes me that it is bad news for drivers and businesses in the town centre it is just been considered as an option, they have a fifty million pound hole in there finances. the future problem will be when they sell off all the family silver and are still in debt.

Agree short term sticking plaster to paper over the financial cracks.
Paying the price for mis management, buying the shopping centres and NWRR preparation just 2 examples of where the Council has hemorrhaged money.
Should stick to core activities not speculative ventures.
I almost hope the Tories get re elected in Mays local elections to sort out the mess they have created

I almost hope the Tories get re elected in Mays local elections to sort out the mess they have created we could add the theatre the last time i looked it was losing £600,000 a year, the million plus for the Darwin bone, the lawsuit against the private rubbish contractor which the lost. the paving cobbles the list is rather long .which highlights incompetence at the top.
