Would also question how much of the unsustainable overspend was the managers fault given all his highly paid players have now departed and yet we allegedly still need cash injections to stay afloat. Sounds like a broken business model to me. Very good point. We've heard for 18 months how Cotterill & Caldwell ruined the club but thanks to the new model, we are now sustainable. But here we here, bringing in L2 players and still going over budget. That's sounds a bit like running a football club

More like running down a club. And leaving it to stagnate More down to a Chairman who wants the money he loaned to the club back asap It will be 18 months or so before we see the accounts for this season. One thing I will predict is a dramatic decrease in wages and all outgoings in comparison to recent seasons.

ProudSalopian and DiglisShrew have encapsulated the essential points of this " debate" perfectly for me.

I do wonder why some posters start threads like this that are currently irrelevant and must know that will reopen divisions among the fans ?? I do like debate but all wasted when it’s clear some fans are set in their minds whatever . It doesn't matter what the topic is, it will end with the same few aiming digs at our chairman 😝

The whole point of debate is one person thinks he's right and the other thinks he's wrong ,and the discussion goes back and forth. There should never be a total impasse

Maybe we need to draw FGR or Wealdstone in the cup then we could add PH to the debate?

The whole point of debate is one person thinks he's right and the other thinks he's wrong ,and the discussion goes back and forth. There should never be a total impasse Eventually you have to accept and respect that others may have an opinion that differs from your own, and not go after them every time this sort of debate comes up. It’s pretty simple messageboard etiquette really.

Everyone moves on even Steve Cotterill and Matt Taylor.

The question was do you prefer Steve Cotterill (departing in mysterious circumstances and leaving us in a mess financially) versus Matt Taylor (appointed unexpectedly, working under financial constrants and then sacked within 6 months) . Of course people are going to bring up the circumstances surrounding their time with us and the nature of the arrivals & departures.
