The start date for selling Christmas goods in shops seems to be getting earlier every year. I was in the CO OP today and they're was Christmas chocolates on sale already. It will not be long before they start playing Christmas carols in October.
whilst I really like Christmas this just too soon.

Marks and Spencer are the same. Itβs ridiculous. Most of the stuff will be beyond its best before date or very near the end of it if people are daft enough to buy now.

I agree Christmas βπ comes very early now, I've got grandchildren now so for me it's a very happy time. Also tinged with sadness as I lost my mum and three grandparents in the week before Christmas. Anyway enough of the gloom, I've already started my present list for Mrs Clash.

Charlies store by any other name , I like going there and the shop next door . Plus they have a very nice cafe there . The garden furniture dept ,same as Shrewsbury, blocked off with great swathes of tarpaulin and signs saying donβt peep as they are busy building their Christmas display. I think itβs going to be massive with loads of expensive Christmas gifts for saleππ

It absolutely boils my p**s. Was in Sainsbury's amongst others last weekend, where there are cards. Chocolate etc, it is pure commercialisation.
Mrs RRIE told me to chill out.
Rant over

In a grumpy old man rant, isnβt Christmas itself becoming a very long event now?
Back in my youth Christmas was pretty much Christmas Eve Christmas Day and Boxing Day and before and after that everyone was at work and they were just normal days
Now the Christmas markets and office Christmas meals seem to start in mid November, Santa is in his grotto all of December, carols are in the square and decorations in the street in November too
Guess thatβs why shops are selling Christmas stuff now but for me no start on Christmas until at least the last Saturday before 25th

My tradition is outside decorations/lights up and switched on the 19th December and down on the 8th January. Almost no mention before or after

I've never been Juan for christmas. Any road up, last year after scratching our owd yeds, we decided to give them all money. I know it isn't entering into the spirit of things, but I'm a grumpy ****er at the best of times.

I ask my wife and daughters to give me a list of five things they would want for Christmas. I then choose three of them plus a few gifts iv bought through the year. At least then I know they will have three presents they won't and it's still a bit of a suprise.

Just been into Aldi in Winsford.
The middle lanes are full of Christmas goodies!!!
That prompted my wife to ask me, what would you like for Christmas?
To be honest, I haven't got a clue!
