Gordon starting.
Kane playing his proper role.
Trent involved and pinging those balls.
Breath of fresh air this.

A comfortable win for England the game was over after the second goal, England limited Ireland's chance's. One of the commentators said that if England won't to be at the next level, they need to be more clinical and score more goals in a game when they are two up. It England need to play at the same level of the first half for the whole 90 minutes

Gordon was very good and Grealish reminded us of what a wonderful player he can be when he is free of the tactical shackles at his club. Alexander-Arnold was good first half but was trying too many Hail-mary passes in the second half. Kane continues to be a worry - ponderous on the ball and Bowen created more in 10 minutes than Kane did all the time he was on. Ireland outclassed but did have more of a go in the second half with Ogbene causing England some trouble.

Not sure why we continue with Kane, by the next major Tourney he will be too old to lead the line.

Decent first half . Second half I lost interest to be honest . Thought we were dreadful . I like Kane but I’m beginning to think is it time to play someone else in his role ? Bowen always adds something when he comes on , he’s quick and direct and causes defences trouble . We will improve no doubt but it seems we do like to slow the game down and dither about in midfield eventually getting the ball back to the keeper . Hope Carsley sorts this out . Even accounting for the fact we had first choice players rested? this wasn’t a good watch.

First half England in total control and looked a real threat going forward, second half just took there foot of the gas and nearly conceded a goal [br
]If that had been Spain they would not jus play for 45 minutes ,they would have kept Ireland on the back foot and probably won 4 to 5 nill. That's the difference between a national team who win tornouments and England who don't. But England got off to a winning start ,which is good news for England and the new manager.

That is an interesting point you make about taking their foot of the gas second half - I suppose Ireland offered so little first half that the England team were not worried about conceding. When England's attacking subs came on they definitely provided a lift and Bowen could have had a couple of goals. Kane has been the master at being effective by dropping deep but his pace of play has definitely slowed in the last year or so and I think he may be holding our attack back at the moment.

We won the game but people seem fixated on this Carsley saga.
He didn’t sing the anthem even tho he’s English blah blah blah They should sack him etc
My opinion is so bloody what he didn’t sing it. Fans always moan and cry about the lack of loyalty in football these days. So you have Carsley an English choose to play for Ireland cos he had no chance of getting anywhere near the squad. Not singing the anthem showed a degree of loyalty to his Ireland career etc.
It was fitting after all this talk about nicking Irish players that two that were the examples scored

Nice to see Kane looking much sharper against Finland but I think he had better tone down the talk about him reaching 100 goals for England - even now he still has 32 to go. Carsley appreciated that Kane works best with fast players either side of him and Gordon has impressed with his pace and directness in both games. Carsley is going to have a big selection headache in midfield/attack when Bellingham, Foden and Palmer become available again. Nice to see Rice bombing forward a bit more as he does for Arsenal and also nice to see Alexander-Arnold playing in his proper position - his range of passing is brilliant. Greece might be a tougher test but the audition for permanent manager is going well even if Carsley does not take singing lessons before the next game.

Yes, good to be at Wembley last night to see England’s record goal scorer Harry Kane gain his 100th cap and add two more winning goals to his tally. Cracking ones they were as well.
