Roll-up, roll-up, don't miss this latest Hollywood blockbuster!
Here's a brief synopsis:
Wrexham, a dark and foreboding place, but with a proud history, has been in the doldrums for years, largely forgotten and never visited.
Its fortunes are transformed, however, when two chancers (Ryan "reckless" Reynolds and his faithful companion Rob "the shadow" McElsomethingorother) stumble across the town.
They spread rumours of a gold mine, a rush ensues, and prospectors flock from far and wide.
Wrexham doesn't know what's hit it and, virtually overnight, it changes from a dark and foreboding town to a dark and foreboding city.
Meanwhile, in beautiful but sleepy Shrewsbury, life has remained relatively unchanged for the last decade. However, an incursion last year, led by Madcap Mullins and Moron McLean, has left many Salopians wounded and the livestock petrified.
Sheriff "hang em high" Hurst and his assistant " deputy" Doig swear revenge. In one touching scene Hurst warns youngsters Leo and Tommy of the perils that lie ahead, a scene reminiscent of the Lion King, where Simba is told never to visit the Elephants' graveyard.
In another beautifully shot segment, old-timers "wiley" Wycherley and "ten-shot" Turner recall previous forays, and the exploits of Alf "wild" Wood, Steve "bullet" Biggins and Paul "the magician" Maguire.
Here's what the critics are saying:
Ian Jones (A large grouse) - This is a beautifully written and crafted classic. Congratulations to Director Liam Dooley on his first major release.
Pilch (Blue and Amber) - I've nothing to add.
Shropshire Star - This is a must...This is a PLUS article. Please subscribe to read further.
