Hi Alll Thinking of extending a planned holiday to include a few days in Buenos Aries. I appreciate that it’s a big City but is there enough interesting things to see tho fill 2/3days ? Additionally , given the history of the two nations should I worry about an atmosphere when travelling about ?
Any helpful comments / observations welcomed 👍

First of all, you might want to start calling it by its proper name ...Buenos Aires rather than by some horoscope sign.
Secondly, I have visited the city a number of times and have always found the locals to be friendly.
Thirdly, don't stray into political conversations regarding the Falklands, or Malvinas as they call them. Most Argentines blame their own military government at the time for the debacle and senseless loss of life rather than the British. They will talk about it however and they almost universally believe that the islands belong to Argentina. Leave it at that.
Fourthly, they are of course mad on football. Try to take in a game at either River Plate or Boca Juniors. The atmosphere is insane. There are other big clubs in the greater Buenos Aires area ..San Lorenzo, Huracan, Independiente and Racing, all of whom have equally passionate fans.
Fifth and last, It is a vast sprawling city with affluent areas as well as a great number of very poor areas ...barrios...which you should really try to avoid.

Thank you for your helpful input especially the football stuff as I always try and get to a game when abroad . I meant to check the spelling 🙈- apologies .

It’s as dangerous as hell if you stray outside Belgrano / Recoleta / Puerto Madeira / Palermo. The taxis are safer than they were now that they are all done by app - NEVER get one on the street.
Some great restaurants - it is all true about the late eating; many don’t start serving until 9pm. Fantastic ice cream.
If you fancy a game River Plate is in a nice area and you can get to reasonably easily; anybody who suggests Boca doesn’t want you coming back. Get ready for the chant of “anybody who doesn’t jump is English”. If you fancy something quieter then San Lorenzo or Velez Starsfield are in decent neighbourhoods. Go with a local if you can. The police are pretty brutal and not speaking the language is not an excuse.
Beautiful city - the Paris of South America.

Alternatively the length of Chile although Patagonia is my priority.

Not a part of the world iv ever been there, iv seen loads of you tube videos and it looks buitiful, especially the Bariloche , sky resorts with the mountains and lakes. I know everything is on your phone but I still get the rough guide travel book, iv always found them.informative and helpful.

Fantastic city very big and sprawling, worth an organised tour. I went for a walk around Boca with any problems, it's very colourful got there and back by taxi. The cemetery is worth a look,Mrs Marcos tomb is a surprise. Within a half hour of leaving my hotel I bumped into a guy wearing a Town shirt, he was from Whitchurch. The steaks are enormous mine had a plate to itself, everything else was on another plate. You can also do a day trip to Montivideo. Have a great trip.
