Going for a few birthday drinks straight after the match on sat. (I know what a way to spend my birthday ha ha) Are there any pubs that do not allow colours? I know it was an 80s thing but just checking.

I think you are fine most places, certainly around Coleham/Belle Vue. Town is a lot more relaxed than it used to be and you can get in places on a Saturday night in trainers and shorts which was unheard of years ago. There may be the odd place which doesn't allow football shirts on a Saturday night but they are few & far betweeen.
