A must not lose game for me. We need to stop the rot, aim for a clean sheet and get some points on the board. I hope the crowd can get behind the team in what could prove to be a vital turning point in our season. Time to kick start our season after a tough set of fixtures.
Savin
Hoole Feeney Pierre Benning
Winchester
O'Reilly Perry Shipley Sagoe
Marquis
If nurse can play 60 minutes I'd play him over Hoole, shift Feeney to RB and play Nurse at CB.

It's a must win for me.we haven't won a game yet and confidence is on the floor. To have any chance of staying up we need a confidence boost and fast.

Saturday is looking a really key game, not just for the immediate future, but the whole set up of the club
Think in the league our last win was back in March, and with straight defeats so far and two tricky games after Orient it’s vital we pick up at least a point on Saturday, especially as Orient have made such a bad start too.
The quality of play is probably not that different to the start of last season, but Taylor’s side managed to pick up 9 points from the first 6 games which kept our total ticking along, and potentially a loss against Orient and the next two games and we’d be facing 6 straight losses and the focus on Hurst will be very strong if that occurs
Looking at both sides season so far whenever scores first will be strong favourites to win the match, so hope we start on the front foot and give the crowd something to get behind. If Orient score first it’s going to be a pretty harsh atmosphere

Without wanting to hyperbole one of the more important games we’ve had in an August in memory. Obviously if we do lose it’s not a foregone conclusion and there’s still 42 games, but the damage it’ll do to the fanbase and the team itself could set us on a spiral.
Savin
Hoole - Feeney - Pierre - Nurse
Winchester - Perry
O’Reilly - Castledine - Shipley
Marquis
Subs - Young, Benning, Nsiala, Biggins, Bloxham, Sagoe Jr, Lloyd
Prediction: 1-1 with us equalising.

Orient played us off the park on final home game last season and I’m not really expecting anything different this time around despite them being near the bottom this season. Desperately need a home win. Hopefully we’ll get a bit of luck with a sending off for them or a deflected free kick/penalty for us.

If we don't change the center backs we are going to struggle and probably lose.

Which position does Morgan Feeney play is he a center back?

Was a toss up between Castledine and Sagoe Jr though.

Nurse is left sided and will surely be eased into things.

I hate square pegs in round holes, just as much as I do mental suggestions that involve Tom Bloxham trying his hand at centre back but I’d definitely give consideration (against the ‘weaker’ teams) to Shipley at left back given Benning’s current form, and Nurse’s lack of fitness. If we are worried about him defensively, I’d point to Benning’s current performances in that regard anyway and if he’s given licence to bomb on, like Benning often does, just keep Hoole back with Feeney & Pierre as cover because Hoole is hopeless going forward anyway for most part, and it’s rare as it is.
There will be new problems having all of the young lads out there at once but to be honest you can see they all have ability their seniors simply don’t and for me, we need all of the quality we can get on the pitch at one time. If it doesn’t work, so be it.

I agree, quality on the pitch and go from there.

Because of the dire form of Nsiala and Pierre, Hoole (and to be honest Benning as well) has not been subject to as much scrutiny by some as he deserves.
In Benning's case, it's perhaps one season too many, but Hoole is a serious worry, not only because he's been very poor right from the outset, but also because he's the only recognised specialist RB on our books, which means either he's undroppable, or that others will have to fill in for him.

Pairings need time to work out on things. Full backs with wingers, back fours, keeper, midfield triangles, no.10s and forwards.

Stevenage had as many new signings on the pitch as we did, and I suspect that Peterborough and Huddersfield fielded a few too.

Can't see Nurse starting his first game in 2 years. Slow return for him.
After Pierre's errors I think Nsiala will play so my guess would be:
Savin
Hoole Nsiala Feeney Benning
Winchester Perry
O'Reilly Shipley Sagoe
Marquis
Shipley/Castledine/Sagoe is the main query for me. Can't fit all 3 in I don't think so have gone with the new guy not starting just yet

Both Peterborough and Huddersfield started with 4 new players from this summer. Peterborough also had a youth team player making his first ever league start. Town had 6 new players against Peterborough and 5 against Huddersfield

Sadly the back four (back five if you include Savin, who has generally done well) picks itself because of injuries, a small squad and a lack of versatility in that squad.
Speaks volumes!

Nurse is left sided and will surely be eased into things. Nurse needs easing in gently tbh, one more long term injury and its bye bye pro career I'd guess. Cant see him starting or playing a full game for several weeks yet. And he wont be back to his best possibly till around Christmas (if at all). Sorry if it sound pessimistic but he has been out for 24 months and will understandably be quite nervous about it all.

If Orient score first it’s going to be a pretty harsh atmosphere Taylor had Cheltenham(H), Burton (H) and Fleetwood (A) in that first 6 games. All three finished in the bottom 5 and God knows how we won at Fleetwood as they dominated us even with 10 men for half a game. This season’s first 6 games are against teams most of whom will expect to be “up there” at the end of the season.

This season’s first 6 games are against teams most of whom will expect to be “up there” at the end of the season. Yes the quality of opposition was much different at the start of last season, and ultimately the points gained then covered up issues under Taylor which ultimately saw him fired, but getting the first 3 points on the board on saturday would just help calm everyones concerns and might just get that bit of confidence in the side. I'm probably being rather negative but a loss against Orient, followed by a potential loss away at Wrexham and the pressure will really start to mount on Hurst, and Charlton at home looks tough too and things could unvavel very quickly. Septembers maybe a slightly easier month on paper, but October looks tough with us playing some of the sides tipped to do well that month. Ending October with only a few points in the bag makes the season very tough.

Its never going to happen but I quite like the look of this: Savin
Hoole Nsiala Feeney Benning
Sagoe Jr Winchester Perry O'Reilly
Marquis Lloyd
Or play Sagoe Jr and O'Reilly on opposite sides as inverted wingers.
