Currently we have just 20 in our squad. That seems very low. Crawley seem to have 23 and Northampton, Cambridge and Exeter have more than 25. Teams generally appear to have three keepers. Hurst says he wasn't looking at more defenders coming in until Morgan Feeney was injured. Also, our most promising youth team players have been loaned out. With some of our players having an injury history, we could have a few missing as the season progresses. There's been nothing to suggest we're looking at bringing in more than a couple of additions which would mean we are worryingly light. I hope I've read it wrong and that we have another at least another 3 or 4 about to come through the door.

I wonder how soon George Nurse will be ready for first team action? If he plays a few minutes or not tonight should give you a clue to how long he is likely to be. |

We can recall the lads out on loan at any time.However once the window closes I'm not sure if we can loan them out again to a non league club.
As an aside I did read that on the first weekend of the football league season only 1 team of the 72 didn't have a full compliment on the bench...US

I don't think we have anything like the quality we need - unless we bring in some meaningful additions. its a squad game these days, I see Arsenal are looking good but with the extra European games if they dont come in for the likes of Ivan toney it will catch up with them again, it was bad enough when cotterill tried doing it, 2 or 3 injuries and we were down to the bare bones, had Matty Taylor tried it last season we'd have been starting games with 7 players and no bench |

I hope we are going to bring in a few more but its a case of waiting to see what's left when everyone else has had their pick. Being bottom of league 1 probably isn't helping.
