Loughran has always impressed me the few opportunities he has had.

Micky Moore is a moron and acting on his whims - we’ve gorra go three foive two! - we’re going under twenty foives! - you’ve gorra have what oi call development playas! - is small time and going to cost us.
This latest whim is that yoong playas have gorra go owt on loooaan.
It’s b******s, they’re all b******s. If this is so fundamental, why didn’t we do this last season? Ah, because ‘the first year I needed to assess how the academy works and put policies and procedures in.’ Now we’re sending the academy players to any old level that we can, regardless of their coaching needs, because Micky has decided this is the latest whim to try to prove himself with.
We’re acting like an amateur outfit and change can’t come soon enough.

You've got to trust the academy management in respect of the right level of non league football that will be best, at this time for their development.
It's got to be the right way forward I would have thought.
Let's wish them all well.

Not sure I agree with this strategy unless there is allocated time each week that the players spend at Salop. Surely the players would benefit from professional coaching on a daily basis over playing in a glorified Sunday league game.

I'd guess that the clubs they have gone to are not full time whereas the Town players are so surely they will spend at least some of the time training with the club.

Unless its short term loans I find it strange in the case of Godwin and Loughran as they seem to be pushing for a place on the bench.
If they come back stronger and tougher mid season it makes more sense.

I don't see anything controversial about this, sending youngsters out on loan to gain experience in men's football is something that has happened for years and is something we've been calling out in recent seasons.
The only slightly worrying thing for me is how low the players are going but that's probably an indication that these are a long way from the first team. If these are going to have a future with us and/or going to be sold then these could be out on loan the next 2 to 3 seasons

Seems sensible but not too convinced as to the level that they’ve been sent out to. Like others I thought Loughran look good so surprised he’s gone to Alport. I have no idea where/who Romulus is but doesn’t sound too exciting!!

I do think "glorified Sunday league" is tad harsh. Perhaps the players will also spend some time with Town during the week anyhow but is this any different to Premier League clubs loaning out players to Town? I think there has to be an element of trust involved and hopefully Town have done their homework, know they will be well looked after and will keep a close eye on them to make sure everyone benefits.
And it might well be for just the one season and perhaps that will help in their development and prepare them for what's to come (if we do want these lads making an impact sooner rather than later). Granted we can question the level but this first team competitive football, sure that will help when it comes to understanding the physicality of the game, concentration, responsibility, etc.
Lets just see how it goes.

Romeulus play same league as alport also signal and Northwich victoria
Any games for academy players are good especially lower leagues where it's more physical at times and can help them technically by keeping the ball more against all benefits as long as they come back and either start getting bench time or go out on loan again to higher level

I think we have to give it a try and see how it goes, you would hope the academy has done it's homework on the clubs At least you would hope they get more game time and adjust to the more physical nature of the game. I'm surprised by loughran going

It's not quite the same as a season or half season loan that we get at our level.

But that's the thing , by the end of the month they won't be , we will have brought in another loan or 2 , they might be tidy but they just need to work on their physical side in real games , 5 mins every few weeks isn't going to help that , some people like to judge before a ball has been kicked , and often they are totally wrong , don't forget we were going down last season according to that thread by someone started at the start of the season

Can see the merits of sending first year pros out (wonder we didn't with the 3 last season)
Curious to see first and second year scholars being sent out en masse. Isn't this a poor reflection of the inadequate nature of the under 18 set up internally and the league they are in?
Anyway good luck to the lads, perhaps this different approach might see of a few of them making the grade eventually.

The plan is to get them to a level where they command value, no? Nothing about playing for us, just about re-sell value.

Play at lower level, improve, play for us, improve, sell on for decent money hopefully. That would be the ldeal scenario though it wont happen with all of them you would guess.

Surely the players would benefit from professional coaching on a daily basis over playing in a glorified Sunday league game. As all of the clubs are part time then our players are only going to be at the loaning clubs for one evening per week training and the matches. The rest of the time they are going to be training with us.This is standard practice when loaning to part time clubs. Additionally,as MM pointed out on In the Stiffs,as there isn't a transfer window in non league we can move our youngsters around between clubs and up and down the various levels to suit the needs of our club and the players. They all seem to be starting out at low level fairly local clubs,I would imagine that come the New Year most of them will be playing for NLN clubs,EG Chester, Kidderminster Hereford

Micky Moore bashing at its finest....... we have been sending youth players out on loan to local non-league teams for a few years now. This was going on before MM arrived. Having development players has paid off for Moore at previous clubs and will work here.

We've seen the alternative for a number of seasons, release them, they get the experience at lower level, then move up to the league. Micky didn't need to be a genius to spot what was missing in our development strategy. An excellent move.
