Spoke to a friend who went to the Swansea game with his kid and he left at half time as things were aggressive on and off the pitch and did not want his kid to see it. He wrote a comment to the Shropshire Star about his observations. GP picked up on this and contacted him, took three attempts to get in touch! When he did he invited this fellow and his son as special guests to the Darlington game. Well done GP for going out of your way, showing a positive attitude on the pitch and off the pitch. Just the tonic this club needs I think.

Well done Gary, but it was reported in the Star ages ago.

Moral of the story 1....wash your dirty linen in public. Much worse for the club, but what the heck.... Moral of the story 2...take your child away from the football instead of trying to convince them it will be OK and they don't have to worry about the next game. Take note Mrs Shone and Mr Ashton. Watching it and saying you did so in the paper is obviously much more serious than being right in the middle of it, shoved against a wall as a five year old who had to escape onto the pitch to get away from it and avoid any more bruises.
