If anyone is really interested in the Wellington venue just google Terry Heaths Town House Wellington. Some very interesting stuff including Terry's own photos of the place being built.
I will have a dig further tonight and see what else there is.
I've got a small connection to the family, my mother was a artist and so was Mary Heath in later life. I've also know the youngest son Chris for many years and still in occasional contact with him.

Used to be a Northern Soul night on a Sunday too, randomly I met his wife through work about 15 years ago, she was living in Shifnal. For gainsparkshrew it was in Wellington facing what’s now the bus station behind New Street. Thanks for the location info guys. Just a question for the more " discerning" amongst you. After it closed did the venue become a (ahem) gentlemens club for a few years?😳 Not that I know off, think it's a boxing gym now

You might be getting confused with a gentleman's club in Hadley a few miles from Wellington. Was called the Paradise Lost club and was (in)famous in the early 70s. I lived about 1/4 mile away from it (but was sadly still at school so never got to experience it). Made the Sunday Papers, also a nudist club at Granville I've heard 😋

Ah got it sussed now.The place I was thinking about was upstairs in The Parade, which was alongside what is now the bus station but originally was a car park. There was an archway in the middle of the building and a footpath through to New Street. That was Terry Heaths

Got talking only a few weeks back to a group of people in the Fighting Cocks in Oakengates who were from there, just out for the evening for a curry. We did get invited to join...

Terry Heaths - now that's a name / place from the past as well. Had quite a few decent bands in the 70s when Terry was running it. Think the Boomtown Rats were there about a week before they blasted into the charts. I saw the Boomtown Rats at The Townhouse Only a few weeks later they were at a packed Tiffany’s in Shrewsbury with a big chart hit. I was at the Townhouse gig and I touched Bob Geldof's arm as he left the front of the stage. He got the crowd warmed up by claiming that there had been altercations with the cops. Punk bulls**t, of course. What did he go on to achieve in life...
