Is O'Reilly better than bayliss???🤔😳 Last season Bayliss without doubt, the season before probably.

But worrying for a pre season? Recognise he's playing a good side, but probs fair to say he has history in not being match fit. Needed a bit pre season to get him ready Still far too overweight! no excuse after being with us for 6 months. Tbf he has had to get us out of trouble after some silly mistakes My favourite thing about Pierre - doesn’t matter if it’s the 10th minute or the 85th he always looks absolutely knackered.

Odds on O’Reilly picking up a mystery injury before the start of the season, never to be seen again?

Keeper started to come then stopped, then went for the ball and was in no man’s land. Few Leicester lads we should be having a look at tonight

Wasn’t convinced by Taylor Perry last year and still not really sure what his best position is.
He’s definitely not a holding midfielder and doesn’t seem good enough to play as a CAM.
He can do a job as a squad player but I think a CDM to play alongside Winchester is a key recruitment position still.

Perry and Bloxham may develop a little better with a team full(er) of confidence as I suspect this one is becoming.
Having the energy of O'Reilly and the Experience of Marquis could prove fruitful.
Bayliss and Udoh already forgotten thanks.

Anyone care to tell us the scorer and how we played etc?

Great performance. Ref was a bit bias for us. But all fears alleviated. If we play like that we will have a good season. Our goal was an OG but the pressure from Marquis made it.
We looked really good folks!!

Sounds like O'Reilly impressing so far. First and only loan in, so let's hope they can some more players in on loan who can also impress. Need to be better than last season as it's such a vital part of the squad at this level Oreilly is our Messi 👍 , very quick and skillful , could be an instant favourite , might work well Close to marquis , enjoyable 2nd half , we were unlucky not to finish all square , few decent loans and we'll be ok

I was impressed by the new lads, much more confident we wont finish bottom than I was 2 hours ago.
I wonder if Moore will get any credit for these signings if the come good or will his name only get mentioned when we sign players that don't come off.

Anyone care to tell us the scorer and how we played etc? our goal came from a wizardly Messi like run from orielly, out to shipley who put in a great cross, so much so the defender trying to prevent marquis getting the touch helped it over the line himself 2nd half was entertaining, albeit leicester changed just about everyone , but very promising display from us, bearing in mind we still have 4 or 5 loanees to come anything could still happen, tonight has given me a bit of hope

That was surprisingly enjoyable, and has given me a touch more optimism for the coming season. Some decent attacking play, ball played on the ground, some width with crosses going in to the box - quite refreshing at times
We still need plenty more quality bodies in mind - the GK position worries me immensely
Only downside today was the state of the ground and surroundings - just look neglected and dirty, lots of muck and mud around the stadium, and the fanzone area over grown and frankly a little embarrassing - needs attention ASAP

What sort of team did they put out? They played basically their whole team bar Vardy. Danny Ward was in goal 2nd half. Choudery. Mavidivi, Harry Winks played.

Good performance tonight. Stand out players were Winchester, Feeney and Shipley. Thought Feeney was really good, probably the best I’ve seen him. Bloxham got some good crosses in but nobody got on the end of it. Hoole and Pierre were also decent. I’m pleased with what I’m seeing atm.

If our ground and surroundings is a s**t tip at the moment then it needs to be sorted before the start of the season.
Perhaps the club's volunteers can be involved in getting it spick and span?

I would love to do stuff like that. But only been asked to help tidy up after games and upkeep the memorial garden so far.

What sort of team did they put out? Pretty strong. From starting XI Think only ones that werent first team players for them last season was Nelson, Ward and Thomas, but Thomas was still on loan at Premier league/Championship side. Changes at HT but still mostly first team players. Later on was some kids, but same from town at that point.

Better than Saturday - really enjoyable game. Our goal was an own goal from a Shipley cross. O’Reilly was great but they all played well. Only disappointment was that we look destined to only play one up front. If Hurst pulls this season out of the fire he truly is a magician.

I know it's only a friendly but I was impressed with how aggressive and determined we was. Chasing in packs, genuine desire to get the ball back and not giving the attackers a moments peace. It allowed Leicester to find acres of space when they passed through our press but most of our games this season will he against teams that don't have such passing ability.
It's simple and Hurst knows it. If you have less quality then work harder. I think this squad is already fitter than the squad was last season.

I agree, in the 2nd half we had a high press that made a premier league team struggle to get to the halfway line. It was wonderful to see.

Pierre was just a 6 at best for me , would likely have walked in the first half had it been a league game , Shipley was far better than on Saturday , I thought Loughran did ok in the run he had , keen to get the ball , run with it and get a shot off , managed 3 efforts in the 20 mins he got , offered much more than Perry , marquis holds the ball up mark Hughes style , obviously needs a player feeding off him Pierre could have got a red for that tackle 🫣 it was horrendous. Loughran did well I agree, just didn't play long enough to give him a score. Marquis holding the ball up against the giant Souttar was a sight to behold!
