I'm getting the same vibes as when I went to watch a pre-season friendly, when Hurst was in charge the last time.it was Burton, who were then in the championship.admittedly they're not derby, but the fitness, organisation, and passing, was there for all to see.....and it was exactly the same yesterday......we will see tho

Didn't renew the season ticket because of work/life/crap football...
Do I get the nagging sense this is all too good to be true.

WOW There are only so many hours of daylight - 9pm sunset that day - though I suppose we could turn the floodlights on to get extra time and space for them to queue ;-) Didn’t see Roland, was he there today? keep up, he went on loan to St. Mirren

What do people who were there think of the third kit? Saw a clip on Facebook -X of the lads all wearing it when they collectively walked in to breakfast.
IMO certainly looks very different, very unusual colour

And if it gets us to the championship you can thank me later... 😉 And let's be honest here, we're still in line for 17th. We just might stay up rather than being stomped every game.

Didn't renew the season ticket because of work/life/crap football... Do I get the nagging sense this is all too good to be true. I've had a few friends asking if I'm regretting not getting a season ticket, the honest is not yet, a couple of promising performances in pre-season haven't won me over and the sceptical/cautious/negative (delete as appropriate) side of me thinks people are getting slightly carried away because they've had a few games where they have seen a town side play some football, energy and attacking intent, something which has rarely happened in recent seasons. But it's certainly noticeable the attitutide of people attending, even my mum was saying to me a few of her friends husbands have been saying how enjoyable pre-season has been I hope that in a few months time the feelfood factor is continuing to grow and I'll start thinking to myself to get a half-season ticket Regarding the open day, I've seen lots of stuff on social media and seems a great success so well done to everyone involved, nice to see fans of other clubs pointing how how much we've done and wishing their own clubs had done something similar.

I was tempted to get one but at £48...nah lol. Either attend two games or buy a shirt...former it is. Wait until the sales methinks.

Agreed, and also worth pointing out only this time last season Matt Taylor’s Shrewsbury town were getting the ball down and trying to play, with some signs of progress. And we all know what happened there.

Did we look good pre season under Taylor? I remember the Stourbridge and Notts County games thinking we were very poor, I went to the Coventry one but have no recollection at all!
Leeds in the cup we looked half decent afterwards I’d agree, but other than that I can’t recall us looking like we have done this preseason.

A Hurst team should have a good start because they'll be so fit. Remember all those 1-0 wins.
It's the end of the season when everyone is knackered in a small squad that we could struggle.

Yes, signed autographs and went round it all. Did you get to the Q&A I missed the second half of it?

And yet everything is going exactly to plan so far , the only disappointing things are those who have judged already in the past weeks / months I think they've mainly judged on the poor season we had and negatives coming out of the club re finances and budget. Seems in reality were not in as bader place as many thought. Only saw the first friendly and away till Notts County by which time I'm expecting our first league win under the belt 🙏

I'm glad to hear the open day went well, iv not been to any of the pre season games but it sounds promising, by the looks of things this season is going to be a lot tougher. As for the season ticket it was the first time iv ever had a sit down and really think about renewing it, I certainly did not rush to get it but I have renewed my seat .

Injuries are always an issue for small squads and we have two players with a history of injuries, it would have been three if price had stayed, I liked price and hoped he would stay but I thought the club were fair given his age and injury history

And yet everything is going exactly to plan so far , the only disappointing things are those who have judged already in the past weeks / months I get your point but after last season and our financial issues, then I was apprehensive. But I tend to think lets see how they shape up after 10 to 12 games

And my word it was bad, boring and not a pleasant experience doing so. Easily one of my worst seasons following the Town last season. All joy was sapped, expectations were consistently driven in to the dirt by the establishment (club and on here) and continue to be so. I renewed, I hope I’m pleasantly surprised, I enjoyed the Leicester friendly I went to but it is seriously early days - I certainly won’t be getting carried away

If we sign the triallist from Saturday (who many think would be a great addition) then the numbers of injury history increase already. Then you can add Nurse to that list as well at the moment until he proves otherwise. Add the odd knocks and niggles that keep players out for 2 or 3 games as well. I would doubt Hurst will have such a settled squad as in his last season with us.

He just needed a bigger budget He just needed to leave. And should have done before we played Wrexham... A Hurst team would have beaten them. or hurst might have lost 2-0, we can speculate that, after all Taylor had a better record last season than Hurst did ( twice ), thats a fact we cant debate. ( especially home games, Taylor won 50%, hurst won once) we forget the previous manager vanished for 2 weeks abroad at the clubs expense and then took a week to decide he wasnt up to the task, we then had to chase a DOF who then had to find a head coach, we can also debate about the mess he was left in and having to hunt for half a squad in the jumble sale, and then find 10 of his squad are out injured, but we dont go anywhere near that debate do we, why ? because our negative dull boring football got us 12th position. ( papering over the cracks was an understatement ) (. I still thank Jesus every night for providing us with 12 worse clubs in the division that season ) am I glad hurst is in charge this season instead of Taylor , yes

Don't worry Roland won’t make the same mistake twice if we’re competing in the new year and a DoF and Head coach on the case i’d expect us to strengthen.

There is injury history in the squad, even the potential new guy, I wonder if the loans not taken up will look to cover that in January.
