I had some info on this last week , have to say this coming open day looks like it will be very good , the club appear to be creating a bit of a circuit starting at the entrance and going around about a dozen different locations where something will be happening and should have a players or 2 in attendance at each spot , there is also the chance to book breakfast at the start of the day and to book for a q&a with hurst at the end , looks like a great family day out and also will be a great opportunity for the keen or curious fans to mix in with the team and staff 👍

I hope those who like a good moan on here attend and get their grievances aired first hand, man to man.

I'm looking forward to visiting the American takeover table for a good discussion about the soccer club, before setting off to the stands to shoot some pigeons.
To be fair though the club do normally do these things well and its really one for families and children to get involved with the club. Its always good to see young fans get to meet the players and get photos and autographs from them. It was never something that was done when I grew up but the access to players is really good now

Went last year good to go with the kids, ladies team played last year which was good part of the day Took my kids to an old Gay Meadow open day, still have good memories of it. Changed my sentimental mind about a new ground when I saw 'back stage' just how dilapidated it was. Roland was on top form and so keen to tell us about the new stadium.
Maybe the best bit about going in these straitened times is it's a cheap day out with the kids in the holiday, unless you end up being talked into taking them to every match......

Iv gone in the past, I think they had the FA cup one year. I think if they can make it children friendly then it could pull in some new fans, parents are looking for low cost activities during the holidays

Standing in the queue in The Narrows and Tony Kelly talking to everyone in the crowd. Came to us and my late wife, who came from Woolton a posh area of Liverpool so only had a slight scouse accent, spoke to him. He picked up on the slight accent and immediately called her "Woolton Girl" and they spent 15 minutes having a chat My sons got all of the autographs and photos that they wanted and my wife got a kiss on the cheek from Tony Kelly. She was,as they say in Liverpool, "made up"

I went last year. It was a bit spread out, and the queue to get the players autographs was enormous. But it was the first open day for ages so no doubt will be slicker. As someone pointed out, the ladies were playing a game on the 4g pitches so that was nice to watch some footy on the day. Fingers crossed for good weather. See you all on sunday

See you all there. Gates open at 11am unless you're having breakfast with a player. You can park in the ground, first come first serve. Looks to be a scorcher ☀️

The link to buy tickets for Q&A doesn’t seem to be working? Yeah I can't get a ticket for the derby game yesterday either 😝 It's probably sold out and has been temporarily removed to prevent over subscribing

Did anyone go to the Q&A - if so was anything interesting shared? -Pitch will be wider to allow us to play football, PH says it a risk as it will also allow others to as well -Aiming to get 3 to 4 more bodies in. -PH signed a 2.5 year deal in January -All players are now on around the same salary, not top heavy like we were, which MM says makes things easier. -PH says he thinks 16 teams will be expecting playoffs at least so he predicts a fair few managerial changes this season -On us being heavily tipped to go down he said they said that last time. There seems to be a good working relationship between MM & PH, Hurst identifies what positions he wants (and changes his mind regularly!) Moore and Ware then identify the targets which frees up Hurst to coach then present them to him. Positive signs all round but as MM said, the PROOF 😬 is in the pudding!

Thanks for that Bordershrew! Good to hear PH has two seasons left. We have been favourites for bottom four every season i can remember. Only Crawley behind us this season. Yet we have been in L1 the longest. It's our league!

Those answers fair make me drool. We look to have a gelled team and a gelled management team. Roland's recent appointments seem to have been so "right". Love the player wages strategy. Prepare for a bookie upset?

I'm slightly more optimistic than I was 12 months ago. ⬆️⬆️ I suspect that goes for the majority. Whatever one or two thought about the return of Hurst he's a better appointment than Taylor...👍

Yes a very good summary, I understood it that 3 or 4 will likely be reasonably experienced loan signings rather than just junior development players. Feeling optimistic that Hurst and Doig will give us a good season with some encouraging football to watch. Haven’t felt that way for a few seasons….
