More of a focal point/link-up player than a goalscorer isn’t he? I’d expect him to play in a similar style to how Carlton Morris did for us. Exactly as I see him,big unit will keep opposition c/bs tied up therefore creating space for others in the team. Like Carlton will score a few but it won't be his main job😳

I’m very pleased with this signing . Provide the right service and he will score. Welcome JM , hope you have a very succesful period at Shrewsbury Town. The problem with so many town teams is the quality of the service, last year was appalingly bad, because we often don't have a creative midfielder who can pass the ball acruatley

Proven at this level, experienced, scores goals at every club he's been at...exactly the sort of player who invariably turns out to be an absolute turkey for us. Hope to be wrong. That is the black spot on him before he has kicked a ball! But I know what you mean we had players who have done well at other clubs but don't for us, and players whi have been dire but go to other clubs abd score for fun

Monumental upgrade on Bowman regardless of whether he's not at the seven figure level he was at just a few seasons ago.
Seems a good character aswell.
Welcome aboard.

On one hand an experienced signing who will lead the line but, not a negative but more an observation, what's happened in terms of our stated aim of signing hungry young players? What do you mean? Literally all of our other signings have been young: Hoole, Lloyd, Savin, and the lad from Villa. We obviously need a few experienced pros in the squad. As I said, it was an observation and was to be the club's way forward this time last season. Times have changed.

Well he certainly appears to have been there, done that and got the t-shirt. The "strikers graveyard" tag should be severely tested anyhow. Fingers crossed.

True if you choose to ignore the other signings made. Pierre, Benning have renewed and over 30. Nsiala is 32, and Biggins is 28.

Perhaps more akin to Stefan Payne. A mobile battering ram.
If he can move defensive and give space for O'Reilly to operate in with Lloyd and Shipley either side.

A surprise signing and has to be classed as a signal of our intent. I trust Hurst to put a competitive team together and for RW to support him.

I think last season at Bristol Rovers should put paid to that. He’s already stopped scoring! Jokes aside. He’s regularly been a nightmare to play against and up until last season has known where the net is at this level. It seems like a sensible signing, and with good experience too.

Its a shock in the sense that it doesn't fit either Hurst's or Moore's rationale for signings but its a welcomed one.
Hurst has seemed to gone for Unknown Non League players, that has change a this summer but its mainly been good L2 players.
Moore's is more bargain basement with respect to Feeney and Benning who are prove that you can get a good bargain.
You can probably see a decent XI now,
Would like some speedy wingers and another Keeper next.

[bi] In his defence he’s been a regular from the bench I believe. Also played behind some fantastic strikers such as Aaron Collins In Marquis & Lloyd we know we’ve got 2 incredibly hard working strikers who will give defenders hard games
