Some interesting comments from Hurst basically confirming Price has told us to do one in not being offered a deal which is a real shame as his passing and quality if fit would bring our team up massive amounts. Suspect 5 left to come in for cert with 4 loans. Keeper, left sided defender, centre mid, striker and maybe another right mid. Suspect he will give Nolan as long as possible to get fit. Imagine we will be starting first few weeks of season barely making an 18 without a few of youth team involved as the loans will be later August moves. Please come and train Jack. If that is the case it is a shame about Price, even with his injuries I thought he could offer us something as an impact sub.

Bird s**t on seats is one thing, but right next to the condiments on the concourse shelving is another… vile, how hard is it to get someone to wipe them down over the last 3 months? They just don’t care… Exactly That is disgusting and just not good enough, someone should have checked the area before the game started.

Back to the game and great to see George Nurse involved again. Fingers crossed he stays injury free.
Also sounds like it's adios to Jack Price...

From PHs interview sounds like he’s thrown his toys out the pram, invited to train but not bothered turning up, no one’s heard from him…..b You’d have taken a chance and just signed him not knowing his fitness I guess?

Dont see how anyone can think weve missed out with Pruce.
Despite being decent in years gone by we cant afford to take on someone on the wages he will want and spend half the season in the treatment room.
Well done to the club this from me.

Yep....cannot " take a chance" on him.....we need young guns to get around a bigger sized pitch, especially in midfield 👍👍

He basically had the one cameo vs Oxford and that really was it. If Price doesn't want to be with us then so be it, I for one wont lose any sleep over it.

You could tell he was a class above whenever he played. And he seems like a proper pro - not the sort who wouldn’t bother to get themselves fit. Just seems like an opportunity missed.

'Tell he was a class above whenever he played'. 'An opportunity missed' Think your first statement shows why he was an opportunity missed - he never played anything like I'd expect a player coming back from injury to play. If he comes back to playing 35-40 games for someone else we might have missed out. I'd say it was highly unlikely he would play that much. Move on.

Club really had their fingers burned signing unfit players last season so lessons learned. I'm a bit surprised we have signed an unfit keeper for this season but Hurst seems to think he will be OK. Price and Nolan not worth pursuing for me.

+ for me Nurse was back, Benning picked up where he left off and further up the field, O Reilly looks like he could be a match winner, Hoole looked very good and it was nice to have a RB, I thought Perry looked decent when he came on. Also good to see some young players get some minutes. - for me Biggins was disappointing as was, Trialist A. Not surprised as it’s normal at the 1st home game but bird muck needs addressing! Nothing like pre season optimism being dampened but a load of cr4p on your seat!!!

I’m sure he will have been aware of Hurst and particularly Doig’s gruelling pre-season fitness regime and at his age, he just didn’t fancy it. That is a shame as at his age, fitness is the key to extending your playing career. No pain, no gain!

No issue with the clubs stance on Price, if he really did love the club and it was his dream to represent us he’d have been far more professional in recovering from injury and working back to full fitness, the fact of the matter is his heart isn’t in it anymore and he’s not prepared to put the work in.
Back on topic a shame that it appears that not only is the squad not ready for the season yet, but neither is the stadium.

Parking worked Tickets worked No long waits for drinks, beer looked fine. Lots of fans in the new kit (!), first time for everything Pitch looked good from the stands Scoreboard worked Apart from the opposition using the area outside the touchline for some form of Yoga, most things went ok. Bird poop complaint - is that Salop Leisure stand only? Our fans were not in West or away ends? Is it just bird poop that is an issue or was there anytihing else? Thanks!

The memorial bricks behind the South Stand look dreadful as well. There’s a picture on Facebook of them all covered in weeds and dirt. Only takes half an hour to spray some weed killer and give them a quick wash. Bordering on downright disrespectful considering they represent people who’ve passed that either supported the club or did a lot for the club.

Highlights from Saturday...
Not an awful lot of Town on the front foot, I gather because its from their channel. Other than that, we certainly looked to have struggled defensively a good few times.

Just don't think we have the funds to take a punt and if there are other clubs out there willing to offer him a contract then I don't blame him for giving them a go instead. Guess we'll have to wait and see where he ends up and how it goes for him.

I've never, ever heard anything about urinating in block 19. When I've sat in that block I've never seen anything like that.
Not have I ever eaten from a restaurant with animal faeces visible in a food preparation/serving area.
Neither is acceptable or funny.

From what I've heard, Price needed to grab The Bull (inn) by the horns, really get his (nag's) Head down and make sure he was fit so that there wasn't a Hole In The (wall) midfield due to a lack of fitness. We'd all be The Loopy Shrews if he wasn't fit due to extracurricular interests, it's no good having the play The Dog and Peasant instead of him.

It seems to happen right at the very top , and depending how the bladders held up on the day depends how far the peepee cascades down , I've seen it go beyond half way but the average is usually about 5 rows
