Now into the 3rd Qualifying Rounds of the Euros.
TNS gave themselves a decent chance to go through in the Europa League, losing by just 1-0 (an og) to Petrocub in Moldova.
And Rangers were heading for a 1-0 defeat as well in Poland against Dynamo Kyev but got a very late injury time equaliser in the Champions League qualifier. Gives them a good chance to win at home next week.
On Thursday it's the turn of Shamrock Rovers, Larne, Kilmarnock and St Mirren to see what they can do.

Goal came against the run of play with TNS having chances. Imagine they'll have a good shot in the return leg.

Rangers crash out of the Champions League and into the Europa League. Lost to 2 late goals at home to Dinamo Kyev after drawing the 1st leg 1-1.
And TNS drop into the Conference League after failing to pull back the 1-0 1st leg result, only drawing 0-0 to Moldivian team Petrocub.

How many bites of the cherry do these clubs have to stay in Europe? Even more this season with games in Januaryfor example , that's why the FA & the premier league decided on behalf of the EFL that we won't have replays in any round , they claimed it is for the welfare of the players , yet the meeting took place without the pfa or the efl being present , just the FA & the premier league But hey let's boycott the pizza cup 😝

How many bites of the cherry do these clubs have to stay in Europe? I think for the lowly countries in at the early stages those who start off in the Champions League qualifyers can drop into the Europa League and then the Conference League as they lose in the higher competition. If you come in as a Europa League qualifyer you can drop to the Conference. But if you start out in the Conference League you cant drop any further if you lose so drop out. As Pilch says it means far too many games and those lower down their own countries ranking (like us) dont get any say whatsoever in decision making like replays etc. Which is very sad.

In tonight's games St Patricks Athletic won 1-0 (2-0 agg) in Kazakhstan against Sabah to progress.
Kilmarnock win 1-0 ( 3-2 agg) in Norway against Tromso and also progress.
St Mirren come unstuck also in Norway against Brann 3-1 (4-2 agg).
Larne are making hard work of their 1-0 1st leg advantage, currently losing 1-0 (1-1 agg) deep into Extra time.
And in the Europa League Shamrock Rovers are 3-1 up (3-2 agg) also well into Extra time.
Elsewhere Ajax beat Panathinakos 13-12 on penalties......
EDIT - Shamrock held onto win 3-1 (3-2 agg) Larne finished 0-1 (1-1 agg). Then won 4-1 on pens to also go through.
Another high scoring penalty shoot out saw Wisla Krakow beat Spartak 12-11. At the other extreme Kobenhavn could only beat Ostrava 2-1 on pens. Bet the crowd had no fingernails left after that one as well.

All the remaining clubs in Europe are aiming for a place in the group stages, win this tie (with the return next week) and you are there.
Results of the 1st leg Europa League Plzen (Chech Rep) 1-0 Hearts PAOK (Greece) 4-0 Shamrock Rovers
Conference League Panevezys (Lithuania) 0-3 TNS Kobenhavn (Denmark) 2-0 Kilmarnock St Patrick's 0-0 Basaksehyr (Turkey) Chelsea 2-0 Servette (Switzerland) Red Imps (Gibraltar) 2-1 Larne
All very much in with a chance except Shamrock Rovers. TNS look very likely to become the first Welsh club to get into European group stages, Larne will look to become the first N Ireland side too.

TNS do look odds on and the Prize money makes interesting reading
Qualification for Group stage = €3,170,000 (£2,662,800)
Revenue per win in group = €400,000 (£336,000)
Revenue per draw in group = €133,000 (£111,720)
So that is a SERIOUSLY BIG GAME the return Leg

Think it would be the first time a Welsh club has qualified for the group stages.
Same for Larne in Northern Ireland too. A goal behind going into the home leg against a Gibraltar side, surely got a decent chance of overturning it you would think.

Anything in the rumours theyve asked to play the home games at the meadow? ... absolutely no truth in that. They are representing the Welsh FA and as such have to play either at their home ground,or if that isn't up to standard they have to play elsewhere in Wales. In the past they have played Liverpool in Wrexham and have also played in Cardiff

With the £2.6 million prize money for qualifying for the Conference League group stages it means that TNS are the richest club in Shropshire 🙄😳
