Third placed Leeds, with a points total good enough to go up any other year, were poor today in the Wembley sun and fell short to the team in fourth place who go up in their place.
Can only assume Daniel Farke is an absolute snake who was joking away with his mate Russell Martin all game. There's literally no other explanation for this kind of defeat in a play-off final.

great result, if only Leeds had signed Alan Armstrong in January, instead they had Daniel James, "Marching home together"

Can totally agree about "stick your Wembley up you're arse".
Think they have lost there more times than we have now.
To think leeds were coasting to 2nd place till about 3 games to go them got hammered 4-0 at lowly QPR to let Ipswich in.

Two closely matched sides but, even though Leeds had more possession Southampton made more and better chances and Armstrong's class run and finish made the difference. The Leeds danger men Summerville and Gnonto were marshalled well by the Southampton defence and were both subbed off with the best efforts for Leeds coming from the sub James. This result should cheer up Rishi Sunak after an interesting week for him.

If only Hurst had been able to sign Adam Armstrong on loan from Newcastle in the January window of 2018. That January window was unfortunately our undoing.
Instead, he was signed up by Blackburn on loan, scoring 9 goals in 21 appearances and helping them to promotion, whilst we, like Leeds today, had our usual Wembley no show in the playoffs.
That's 4 times Leeds have failed in the playoff finals, which at least beats our 3 times.

Seeing a few people doing straight analysis of this game here and elsewhere, which just doesn't compute for me I'm afraid. It cannot be that they just lost a one off game at the end of a long season, it must be because Farke is disloyal and took his eye off the ball.
From reading Blue and Yellow, I have seen KLWhite has just posted that he's never felt so low as he did walking out of Wembley today. The Sensational Graytee has said that he "wouldn't p**s on Farke if he was on fire after that." Relieved to see some sensible analysis, at last.

Farke is a class act and they are lucky to have him. It's an emotional game

If he had come out the old way in a crouching position, ready to dive either way with his hands free to attack the ball, he may have made a better job of saving that shot. It is far easier to move the hands and arms than feet which are planted on the floor with your weight above them.

I’ve heard of a complaint sent to Curry’s by someone who bought a new 72” TV to watch the Premier League next season but it was delivered without Leeds.
