Not sure about the "things can only get better", I think people ought to wait and see. But anyhow, its a shoe in isn't it. Not much to say. Whilst I am sure Labour would have chosen not to be out of government for 14 years at some point in time that really is your best asset and so here we are. Could well be the same in Scotland too with the SNP looking in pretty bad shape after years in government. But then we have to consider that the last few years have been some of the most difficult looking to the UK leaving the EU, the pandemic and the war in Ukraine. So I do take that into consideration.
I do get the feeling though that for many this is about giving the Tories a kicking (and I wouldn't argue deserved) rather than any real confidence or love of the Labour party because I think that also goes for an awful lot of conservatives who I think don't consider the Conservatives to be anything of the sort. But of course that will only get Starmer and Labour so far, they will have to stand on their own two feet soon enough (like next month). As so what to expect, who knows. The "flip flop" tag is well deserved, we have seen Labour make pledges aplenty over the last months only to go back on them. So we wait and see.
I also get a feeling that this if going to be a significant turn in office for Labour, maybe misplaced as I hate to be the one for hyperbole but I get the impression that many are now giving Labour a go after being disillusioned with the Tories. If that disillusion comes about with Labour too then I think it will be interesting to see what comes after.

Shropshire has traditionally been a solid blue County. At the last General Election it returned 5 Tory MPs. The Lib Dems Helen Morgan won the North Shropshire by election last year which took many by surprise. Despite what many on this board think, voters particularly undecided voters tend to revert to type. If like me you feel that it is time for a change, then tactical voting will in my view be essential to get rid of the Tories The Lib Dems will need Labour support to retain North Shropshire , and are the challengers to the Tories in South Shropshire I would suggest that Labour has the best chance of unseating the Tories in Shrewsbury and Telford
