Saw Bryan Adams at the Ricoh on Friday night, probably seen him 12-15 times and as always he was superb. He can still rock the place out, fills venues all over the world on a very regular basis, despite his hits being from many years ago now.
I was expecting it to be an outdoor on the pitch concert so had a jumper and gillet on, didnt realise there was an indoor arena there too. It was stiflingly hot.....

Saw Bruce Dickinson in wolves on thursday. AC/DC at Wembley stadium in july. Wish I'd thought a bit more about AC/DC when tickets cane out. Never thought I'd ever be able to get, nor justify paying the price to see them. Big mistake but hey ho.

I've seen Hells Bells a couple of times. A great tribute band. I had thought Brian Johnson had retired

The The, The Cult at Wolves, Pet Shop Boys at Manchester, Cribs at Liverpool, wanted to see Beneftis in Wrexham last weekend but didn't make it in the end. There are a few others at Wolves I'd love to see like Interpol but just need to get some work to pay for them Went to small bits of Loopfest the other weekend in town, what a great event for Shrewsbury to have.

I did fulfill one of my real wants in November last. I saw Placebo in Portsmouth. I have never seen anyone hold an audience like Brian Molko. Also finally seen Fall out Boy (Birmingham) a very tight band

Off to Sunderland on Wednesday to see Bruce Springsteen. Looks like I’m going to get wet !
Off to Germany for the Euros, but will get to see Saw Doctors and Skids in Cologne, with lots of Scottish fans I believe
Rebellion in Blackpool again this year, but as season is starting a week later I only miss the pre season game at Oldham
That SLF and Skids gig in Belfast should be a cracker

Taking me owd bones and wife to the far away reaches of Shropshire in July to see Elbow at Ludlow Castle . Love a bit of culture me so off to the Literary Festival at Hay on Wye this Sunday . James O’Brien and Wes Steeting first up and the following Sunday it’s Rory Stewart plus whoever pops up in the BBC tent which is free . Saw Lyse Doucet last year in the BBC tent . Loads going on at Hay but it’s a bit of a bugger getting tickets . Miriam Margoyles is on too but tickets went early . Still , a great day out , don’t know who you might see wandering about and a massive food “hall “ serving everything from Beefy Boys to hard core Veggie meals . Love the festival , a very relaxed event highly recommended .

Its interesting seeing the lists of bands people are seeing in the summer how a career people have in music now. Some acts mentioned have been active for over 40 years and still going strong now and filling out large venues. Im also off to see Elbow in Ludlow and looking forward to seeing Nadine Shah there as a supporting act. Big Special are a new band I'd like to see in the summer
On the downside of the older groups still going strong I do wonder where on the music venue calender younger new acts are able to get in on the act and where the 18 - 25 age groups are getting their access to these bands. When I go to gigs its always seems to be full of 40 plus people like me, which is nice to see us oldies still enjoying music but I'm not sure where younger acts get that opportunity to play in a reasonably sized venue and build up a following. I know lots of smaller venues are closing now too which is a bit sad, as I had some great nights many moons ago in small clubs and venues in Brum, Manchester and Leeds and hope there is somewhere similar young people are going to see up and coming acts

Can't say there are any newer bands I like. I have a soft spot for gloomy Scandinavian metal. Again lots of those bands have been going for 10 years plus.

There are some great new(relatively) bands out there. Three bands I thought would be really successful vanished without trace. Missing Andy ,..All Time Low and New Street Adventure. I believe All Time Low may be back with a different line up but I am sure someone on here could put me right
