Enjoyed the trips to Hartlepool & Darlington, though the latter brings back memories of Matty Redmile sweating under the sun & team looked like they'd had too many beers in hotel night before. Only a few games Vs Rushden & Diamonds & Boston; liked the name of former but Boston would take it for the work rivalry.

Southport for another seaside away day When Southport were in trouble, they appealed to the local council for help, but they didn't. When Southport went wallop Mrs Cockins, the Mayor of Southport regretted it. He said, "You don't realise what prestige a football league club gives you until you haven't got one". I don't think I've met a friendler bunch of supporters than Oldham. The last time we went there, they showed us to a cheap pub and mixed with us and had a good loff We Juan 2 - 1, so we decided to find a pub closer to home to continue our day out. It was the fust time I've been asked for my age to go in the concessions.........it was my 65th birthday! I;m going to dub Juan of b & a members in now. ssshrew has been going in the concessions well before her 65th birthday. As she still looks about 35 to this day, I don't know how she got away with it. I suppose no Juan wanted to ask a lady her age! Best regards, ssshrew, I'll contact you this week. I'm a bit tired today, I had a long day oop north yesterday, but all is bobbing along ok. J.T.

Workington for me.
Had a tour of the ground last year. Fantastic stadium, was like being back in the 50’s

Workington for me as well.
I would have also said Bradford PA if they still played at their original ground which I guess has probably been demolished by now?

Workington for me as well. I would have also said Bradford PA if they still played at their original ground which I guess has probably been demolished by now? I beleive parts of it are still there but the cricket club has encroached onto some parts of it. The stands etc have long gone. I visited it about 40 years ago and trees were starting to grow through the terracing but there was the pitch still there although very rutted and bumpy. The old turnstile gates were still there too. Seen pictures in recent years and it's just even more overgrown. Well worth a visit though.

Gateshead, sadly they are not eligible to take place in league 2 play offs as their ground cannot be guaranteed to be owned by the club for the relevant amount of years. According to EFL rules. Disappointing. Technically not the same team that was last in the league in the early 60's. I guess I'm an anomaly here, but I like seeing new clubs make it into the league but guess eventually everyone finds their level. I'd absolutely love to get to Barrow and Harrogate for example, and would much prefer a new side to make it up this year than Barnet. Lower down the pyramid I'd love to see Chelmsford and St Albans and Buxton make it to National league level and challenge as well and looking forward to seeing how Needham Market get on at the insanely high national league north level next season as my son plays in their youth set up. Needham has a population of about 5000 and they average about 300 at their very tidy little ground. Also keeping an eye on Bury Town in the Isthmian League as they've made the play offs after a brilliant end to the season.

For sentimental reasons I nominate Gainsborough Trinity because they were our opponents in the first Town game I saw, April 1950 in the Midland League.
They failed re-election to the Football League in 1912 and are unlikely to return, but it’s interesting to think that we were at the same level in living memory.
New Brighton would be a nice away day, we do some walking on the coast around there with New Brighton a convenient lunch stop.
