An update on this - All opening & final day fixtures to be shown - All midweek games to be shown - All bank holiday games to be shown - All games over an international weekend to be shown - All league cup, & Pizza Trophy games to be shown - There will be 26 games in the football league on a Saturday at 3pm (7 in Championship & 19 across L1 & L2) - Games moved will be on at 12.30 Sat & Sunday and Monday, Thursday & Friday nights www.shrewsburytown.com/news/2024/may/sky-sports-is-introducing-sky-sports-launching-this-august/Can we read into that the first game won’t be on Saturday at 3.00 p.m. ? Believe there is an exception to the blackout for the opening game of the season, could still be Sat. 3pm and be shown live.

Did I see it that its 26 notes next season to watch Town. I just wonder how many will stay away and try and catch it on the box or online instead with so many games available.

That was one point I was wondering , only time will tell how .uch impact it will have on attendance numbers. As they are going to show over twenty games. If you already have sky sport and it is an away game and the money is tight it might be tempting to stay at home. For fans who have health issues who can't come to games they will an option to watch games on sky Does anyone know how much income this will bring in for town.

Its going to be interesting to see what impact this has, if any, on attendances. Did I see it that its 26 notes next season to watch Town. I just wonder how many will stay away and try and catch it on the box or online instead with so many games available. For the first time in approx 25 years I'll find myself without a season ticket next year so it's going to be interesting. I'm still planning on going to plenty of home games but if the fan card disapears then the thought of paying £26 to watch a struggling side really is really going to test my levels of commitment. Over the years I've lost count of the number of times we've been comfortable in the pub and said do we really need to go to the game, but having a season ticket you feel obliged. I'll freely admit that if I can easily watch it in the pub or at home, then I may well do that. But guess we will just have to wait and see. To answer your question on the price of tickets, when the club announced the season ticket prices, they said match tickets would be go up by £1 in advance and another £1 on the day. They did say more details would come after the early bird period ends but we don't talk about when the clubs says they'll do something and dont For those fans not purchasing a season ticket, we have closely evaluated prices this season throughout League One, and we are going to put a small increase of £1 per game on a standard ticket (aged 14 or over) bought in advance of the match day.
Along with an additional increase of £1 on the day of the game. More details on match day ticket pricing will be announced before the start of the season and after the early bird season ticket period.

I know the club proudly announced that early bird season ticket sales were up on last years figures, but with the anecdotal evidence of people who’ve had season tickets for many years not renewing I find it hard to believe.

Once the early bird deal goes why would you.

regarding midweek games next season, currently £10 per game, I dread to think what the cost will be under sky, will it work out better ? I doubt it "for contract-free access to all Sky Sports channels, non-Sky subscribers can purchase a NOW Sports Day or Month Membership, giving you access to every single live Sky Sports+ stream and on demand catch-up content from August" From www.nowtv.com/ site: Day membership = £14.99 Month membership = £34.99 20 games will be ~ 2 per month? So cost has gone up ~ 50%?

That's something at least for some of the further afield away days. Might be a good money maker for Smithy's and other pubs around town.

Sky sports news covering all EFL 72 clubs with interviews over next few days. League One today, Salop likely to be on around 2ish.
Mentioned on the way to us after probably having to endure the stench up in Wrectum.

I thought I had read somewhere that a full match replay would be available to watch next day. Televised games are available but I thought they all would be. Sure it used to be available under iFollow.

Sky seem to provide an “unusual” service in regards to Shrewsbury games! Some feeds I have watched had no commentary but still had volume which meant you could listen to all the wonderful support and encouragement from the stands, and some not so flattering comment! Other feeds either provided me with the opposition commentary but then changed over to Stuart Dunne mid sentence, then switched back two minutes later! Having said all that, I have really appreciated being able to see replays and goals from more than one angle! Still wouldn’t pay for it though!

Just had a look at our next ten fixtures….amazingly 7 of them are live on the red button, one, the Exeter game live across Sky sports football so cam angles galore. I must admit a week Thursday is a ***** night for footy and all because of Sky.
In the most part I’m pleased we are getting so much coverage, especially for our exiles and fans dotting around the country who can’t get to home and/or away games.
What do you guys make of the coverage? I know it’s affecting attendances a bit, especially away. I’ve a ding dong with someone about the OSC coach as I prefer the train for away games every time. Each to their own.

Are they simply watching iFollow with a VPN? Do Sky record every game and show through iFollow when not live on Sky? Are there two recordings when it’s live on Sky and IFollow? Do Sky cameramen turn up at every ground for every game? On a separate not I heard the temp. Floodlights are being installed this week for the European games.

As for fans using VPN, I don’t know. Plenty do for other teams do it I guess. Good news on the extra floodlights, not surprising tbh.

I'm enjoying the coverage - I've even watched the Pizza trophy games. I must admit though there a few times where I would have gone to the match but chose not to because it was easier to turn the TV on.
