I have no interest in either the IPL or The Hundred.

Watching the Worcester v Somerset game at Kidderminster on the live stream, it seemed to me that nearly all the spectators huddled in overcoats and jumpers were over 50 and predominantly male. Sadly, it seems that T20 has taken away the younger element from watching the traditional county games, and that when the existing spectators die, they're not likely to be replaced. Lots of empty seats today. Sub 500 crowd I would think. What may influence some supporters is who are the opponents and who is in their line up. There was a time when there was more international players on show, the IPL, central contracts have put paid to that, to a degree. Even the likes of Mooen Ali rarely played red ball cricket for the Pears in recent years.

One man and a dog in attendance today.
8 bowlers used by the Pears, to little avail.

Any fringe opinions out there on favourite player? 94% of B&Aers at the most recent poll said this man: www.kiaoval.com/our-squad/sam-curran/I quote: “ONE OF THE BIGGEST TALENTS IN WORLD CRICKET, SAM CURRAN IS RESPECTED ACROSS THE GLOBE” I’d love to hear who the other 6% get more giddy about. How's your boy doing? He doesn't figure on the batting list but I managed to find him lurking at 14th on the bowling one. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/averagesI see Punjab Kings have made him captain too, taken in by the hype no doubt as they languish in 7th place, now 9th place.Captain Curran continues to lead from the front.... 1 for 50 off 3 overs today as Punjab Kings lost, again! 8 defeats now out of 12 games played. Where is the Inspector when you need him to give his hero a pep talk?

Hopefully Worcester can have a good finish to a decent performance against Kent.

Hopefully Worcester can have a good finish to a decent performance against Kent. Some knock that from Jason Holder coming in at eight. Poor old Kent bowlers didn't know what had hit them 😅

At least Surrey will be without the Curran brothers and Roy against Worcestershire.
