I can boast a total of twice. Both times when I came away from Shrewsbury hospital. (I'm not blaming them). The fust time I had no symptomes at all, when I got an e-mail from the hospital confirming covid on my last test.So I tested at home, and sure enough I'd got it. The second time I was dog rough, it me yonks to get over it. The strange thing is, I don't seem to have passed it on to any Juan else. Covid must be terrified of the dragon.
You had covid?

Twice.
First time it led to Pleurisy and then some scarring of one lung. Had to go for regular CT scans, and at one point was put on the cancer 2 week pathway leading to a PET scan, eventually got the all clear about 16 months later.
The second time I was rough for about 10 days, another week to fully get over it.
Touch wood been ok since.
Fortunately my wife and family were ok.

Avoided it until I was admitted to hospital with a ruptured appendix during the ambulance strike andcaughtit there...Couple of other times likely through football due to crowds but never been very poorly

I've been very lucky,as expected just the mild symptoms after my first jab nothing after that. The same with all of my family. Obviously my sympathies go to those that have suffered and sincere condolences to those who lost family members

Never tested positive for it. Back when tests were free and proof of a negative test was required I tested as and when required, but since that was dropped I’ve never tested.

I've had it twice , luckily not before having the vaccine, was still fearing the worst when I got it, day 2 was quite bad and chest was very painful, woke up day 3 and was so relieved to find it was a little better than the day before, got brain fog, lost sense of taste and even had a rash on my hands, 2nd time I had it it was much milder, there was only one day where I was feeling bad and it was a Sunday so I didn't even have time off work, I always thought it got less each time but I think it was Mike off here who was quite bad in hospital with it for his 3rd dose after being ok the first couple of times.
pretty sure I had a corona virus back in 2009, hit me for at least 3 months

As an over 75 I’ve had the jab and booster every time they’ve been offered and I ‘ve had it once but so mild I wouldn’t have known without testing.
How people react to the virus seems to be pot luck, my niece has had long Covid for 3 months and son in law 6 weeks to return to normal. Other people I know have had it several times without after effects.

Had it twice (that I know of)
The first time I had been on a stag do and about half the stag ended up getting it. I was doing lateral flows and they returned negative, I ended up doing a PCR test up at London Road and got confirmation the morning of the Gillingham game (Bloxham wondergoal) so ended up missing that. I remember after I received confirmation of my PCR test being positive, I another lateral flow which still said I was negative so that showed how reliable they were.
The second time was because I was going on a family holiday and my mum was a bit nervous as someone we had come into contact had recently tested positive. I had no reason to suspect I was positive and just did the test to say to her that I had taken it
Both times were pretty similar in that the worst I experienced was for 24 hours I had a slight head cold but nothing serious.

Never knowingly had it via a positive test, but of course I will have had it several times in the last few years, I just stopped testing the second it wasn’t mandated, don’t get why anybody would still test now, just weird

Zero, null, zilch - at least of which I'm aware. Such frequency is only marginally worse than the Town's goalscoring exploits....

Whilst on the topic of covid, I randomly stumbled across an old rag from 2021 recently, aswell as a box of those useless paper masks, god knows why I still had them in a drawer, safe to say I don’t have them anymore!

Three times for me . The first time was very early on and quite scary. My sense of smell is pretty much non existent these days.

I've had it twice.
All in my back. Couldn't walk day 2 either time. Zero flu like symptoms.
I was amazed the first time, but googled and the back issue is fairly common.

Had it once nearly killed me I was having chemo at the height of COVID had 3 vaccinations but the chemo destroyed them all had no immunity. Had COVID pneumonia October 2021in hospital a couple of weeks back in a couple of weeks later with blood clots on my lungs out on Christmas Eve back in early January 2022 with bacterial infection in for 3 weeks the oxygen therapy was very scary throughout all of this didn't think I would make it couldn't walk 10 yards very weak. Probably 6 to 12 months to get back to normal. Unfortunately I'm now back on chemo again fingers crossed finish in June. Just renewed my season ticket so hopefully be ready for next season.

Once for certain. Possibly twice which was before the pandemic. A relation of mine had been on a conference in China for their company. She came back feeling flu like. On neither occasion was I too ill

Worked at The Bowls Centre Vaccine Centre at Sundorne full time all through the main covid months. Never had covid. It was the most satisfying period of my working life with lots of stories to tell and fantastic NHS staff and volunteers ensuring we got through it as best we could. Sadly not everybody did but it certainly wasnt through lack of effort from some wonderful people.

Just the once as far as I know. I wasn’t too bad just very tired. It some time to get back to full strength.
Just finished chemo and the recommendation is to have any jabs that are offered. I’ve had all I am eligible for. I’m looking at as just like a flu jab part of my older self routine.

I've had it twice.
Nothing is as bad as the night I had the second vaccine. Good grief I felt poorly.
The real thing was child's play compared to that.
Probably because I'd had the vaccine.

Not officially but I had all the symptoms mid-December before China went public 🤷♂️ My wife did too. We had been close to Chinese tourists in crowded Amsterdam trams and I believe she got it there. She was so bad I her to A&E a couple of times and they couldn’t find the cause. Of course they didn’t know what they were looking for then.

Possibly had it before lockdown and testing started but if it was Covid, it was like a prolonged sinus infection. My wife had a persistent cough at the same time. We had just travelled across country and back on busy trains.
We also had it last August, confirmed by testing. I was quite poorly for a few days and lost my sense of taste for about a month. My wife several weeks to throw off the lingering symptoms after being quite ill at the beginning for a week.
It is certainly a weird illness with such a range of symptoms and the capacity to cause lasting damage but I think it is fair to say that, as a society, we have learned to live with Covid.
Having said that, I have total respect for those who continue to take a more cautionary approach.

Never tested positive for it.
However we spent a few weeks in Majorca spring 2022 so 2 years after it was all hyped up by the media (was meant to be 2020, and then 2021.....). Had an extremely sore throat 2 days after flying out which lasted 2 or 3 days, then a runny nose for another 3 but I've had far worse colds. We had no access to testing kits with us so didnt test. I was doing plenty of warm weather cycling whilst over there and felt fine to carry on doing that. 2 others who were with us for a few days and felt under the weather and tested when they got home and were positive so I'm guessing I passed it on but cant be 100%.
Never had any cold like symptoms since till this winter when I've had 2 quite minor colds.
Wouldnt bother testing now, testing kits all long gone in the bin. But if I felt like I might have it I'd keep away from vulnerable friends and relatives.

Never knowingly had it via a positive test, but of course I will have had it several times in the last few years, I just stopped testing the second it wasn’t mandated, don’t get why anybody would still test now, just weird I mix with some pretty poorly people. They have enough problems as it is, so something else to cope with isn't good. Once every two/four weeks I'm sitting around with about 80 to 100 folks, most who have suppressed immune systems. Because I'm on a trial and results have to be evaluated for the drug company, any pause in treatment is a pest for all concerned. I agree though, I probably am weird!

Indeed. Same with me jaytee. It all depends on circumstances and attitude to those less fortunate with regard to immune systems.
I am being very careful where I go at present as I know there will be folks about who don’t need to or don’t want to check themselves if they feel unwell or just think it’s another cold. A set back or delay in my treatment due to illness woukd cause me more worry and anxiety than being ill.
