have looked at previous meetings, before I made my first trip we had lost 10 out of 10 games there
my first trip was 14/15, under Micky Mellon where Bobby Grant scored twice in a 2-0 win, sadly this was the game where tragedy struck later on the London underground as a town fan was badly injured and his brother killed trying to save him.
Next time we went there was under Hurst in the promotion push, one of the most tense atmospheres ive ever experienced, town had a lot of refereeing decisions go their way and the home fans were livid. We snatched a 1-0 win
John Askey also avoided defeat there, managed a 1-1 drew in one of the few games he managed
Rickets had 2 trips there in the space of 7 games in 2020, a 2-0 defeat a month before covid set in, it was pompey that time who made the play offs, and then 0-0 the opening game of the next season
Similar record for Cotterill, 2021 we lost 2-1 followed by 2022 a 1-1 draw
come on town

Saydee just missed a sitter for Portsmouth.
Mendez Laing and Collins playing for Derby plus Blackett-Taylor who we remember scoring for Tranmere in the last minute just before Covid stopped all football.

Might not be related but I see AOB on Shropshire Live, wanting to repay everyone at the club, is it a hearts and minds kind of thing or is he putting himself in the shop window for the close season?

Said it before, AO'B or JP might just score the goal that means we stay up. The JP goal that earned us a point is already a contender for that accolade.
There will be a number of our players hoping to prove they can still do it against a team like
Portsmouth. Let's hope the summary Saturday goes something like the Radio Derby one tonight, with maybe a point or three for us too. 'Darren Robinson Former Derby coach on BBC Radio Derby It was a cracking fixture. A fantastic advert for League One. The game was high on quality with some excellent goals'.

I think 0-0 why not go for a hat trick! It’s the nearest anyone looks like getting to one!

Why is every Juan so afraid of Pompeii? I'm not. I expect to give them a right game. Big crowd, big atmosphere, I expect our lads to rise to the occasion.

Don’t see why. He must have known what he was taking on when he the job. Or did he really believe all the hype that he could turn it around? He surely must have seen by now that we can’t put in two good performances running. Crumbs even I have worked that out.
Some of the players are young, some are older and possibly don’t like him or respond to his methods.
Nothing will change until next season and then we will see what happens.

Sometimes what looks like a predictable result is massively overturned. Last week it was Carlisle at Peterborough.
Why not Town at Pompey?

If we are as organised as we were against Oxford then we'll be in with a chance. To get a point or even three, we will need to score at least one and Marosi will have to be at his brilliant best. As always, we'll need some luck.

What Mr Hurst will be looking for on Saturday is men of the up most quality and standings. Men of dogged steel and the same passion as the vicars mistress! I for one will be bashing my bishop if we get three points at those Fratton Farts. It could get messy!!!

You and I are probably frustrated with there fitness levels, well I am.... you'd always have a chance at Pompey,if our fitness levels were better than there's,even tho they're a better footballing team.....I seen it time and time again in the 80s when turner was manager....playing the likes Newcastle, Leicester, palace etc...totally outrun, and outfought them all👍👍

They need to beat us to be within one win of promotion. I fear the worst. If they win and the other results go for them they are promoted all bar the shouting I think. They will undoubtedly be gunning for the win. I too fear the worst, just hope they hold back once they are 2 goals up as we will never pull that back against a top side I'm sure.
