Was there an explanation of the apparent steward overload? Are the inhabitants of block 1 and 2 proving that it's the quiet ones that are always the worst these days?

The stadium was granted a Safety Certificate when constructed and is subject to an inspection each year. The club is therefore complying with currentregulations
I agree with others that the stairs are quite tricky for a lot of supporters and I'm not at all surprised to see these concerns being raised. The fact that the vast majority of stadiums are the same suggests to me that there are no easy answers to the problem. If there was, we would see improvements in all other stadiums.
Having said that, H&SE are not infallible So perhaps we should look at ways of improving safety. I think it unwise of our Safety Officer to cite costs as an issue as this opens up a real can of worms; 1. It admits there is a problem.. 2. It suggests we have the answer. 3. It suggests we put money before safety
Whilst we comply with Stadium Safety Regs Anyone can still make a claim and it will have to be defended. There will be a cost to this in time, money and bad publicity. No Win No Fee solicitors love to use the threat of massive legal fees to get an out of court settlement.
In practical terms, I would suggest handrails bolted to the walls is an easy fix. The main staircases are problematic. A handrail running up the centre of the stairs may seem a cheap and obvious solution but it would result in congestion and confusion.
A potential answer is to install a hoop at the end of each row of seats that are high enough to grab when using the stairs, say 900 high. This won't be cheap as we would need about 1000 at a very rough guess.
Given our current financial woes, it's bad time to tackle it but we have to start somewhere. Any ideas we come up with will need the approval of HSE.
Crowd funding is one suggestion and maybe Sponsorship is another route. Our new COO seems very switched on and capable of getting things done.

all we need to a rail on the ends of the stands, it doesnt matter where you are located, its a clear flat walk to the nearest end

What the devil is going on? The last 2 home games on the 85th minutes a full plethora of stewards have stood all along block 1 and 2. This doesn’t happen on any other part of he ground. I’d have thought the good folk of 1 & 2 would be the last to “kick off” about anything . Anyone have an explanation ? You should be thankful beefy the stewards in The West Stand are over officious w****rs
