The reason he left first time round was due to falling out with SC during the Sunderland game. That’s why he left first time round.
Second time round seems to have been a combination of being closer to home, not really fancied by MT & a chance to reduce costs as Sutton were covering 75% weren’t they?

I guess at times we can forget that they are as human as the rest of us. Awful lot of things can influence how a player gets on at any particular place at any particular time. A change of manager, another singing, a change of position and role etc. A good read anyhow, lets hope things start to click.

Some interesting comments. I would love to know what has happened since he signed for Salop.
It does annoy me that he has come back all smiles now he is trying to earn a new contract somewhere.
I don't care if he bangs in 10 goals by the end of the season I still would not want him here next season. He is too big for his boots.

A good read and good reaction from him.
Cant see him being here next season though, but he wont be on the same wages as we have been paying here at any club.

There is always a bit of luck - Wood for Leicester against Watford & Almunia - I'd take one of them

Too bad if he didn’t like it when he got here. He has cost us money and who knows we may be higher up the table both this season and last if he had knuckled down and done what he signed to do.

Hoping for goals from him today I'd put money on it, if I had any.

Whatever the back story when his time with us is reviewed it's been nothing short of a disaster of a signing.

if he scores 2 in every remaining game, I still wouldn't want him here ever again after this season, I'd love to blame cotterill, but he also didn't play for Taylor so he's a no from me

Some did their best playing out of position but others didn’t seem to know what they were supposed to be doing. I saw it as a Head Coach used to more balanced, attacking formations, being asked to play a 3-5-2 which was really a 5-3-2.

Wasn't he injured/struggling for fitness for the first half of his first season with us, before falling out with Cotterill? Difficult to know how much of the blame for the fall-out was with him and how much was with Cotterill, but he won't be the first to have fallen out with a famously abrasive manager. He was then loaned out as a result of that, came back and was praised for his attitude by the new management team, before being loaned out again presumably to save some money. And since he's come back he's been a solid, if unspectacular, part of the squad who seems happy to much in off the bench and isn't sulking at not starting.
I'm not at all defending his record or in any way saying he's been anything short of a disaster of a signing, any striker who's brought in and is yet to score across his two contracted seasons with us can't be considered anything short of that let alone one on good wages. But his time here can be broken down into four quarterly chunks - a year of which he wasn't even with us - injured, out on loan (after falling out with management), out on loan again, playing a bit and fine. I'm not so sure it's his attitude or that he's a billy big b******s that means it hasn't worked, it just hasn't.
I'm disappointed it hasn't worked out because it's cost us, but I don't dislike him individually more than any of the other many signings that haven't worked out over the years.
