Really a nothing statement.
Only minor piece of insight is that Roland is paying for Price's contract, which sounds like it would have been signed regardless of manager.

I'd liked a sign that after consolidation and restricted budget this season that next season will be better with a bigger budget.

The higher earners out of contract in the summer are on their way then reading that.
Hope Hurst can pull some decent rabbits out of the hat to replace them.

Regular updates like this will help us back him. Understanding the thought processes behind the clubs decisions is crucial for a clubs relationship with the fans. I believe the Dooley and Moore statements are fulfilling that requirement. Long may they continue.

A disturbing read, very much sounds like the out of contract players will be gone, a haunting thought.
Other than the academy moving back, there's nothing new, he's just explained what we know about his signings already.

Soooo...any ideas what MM actually does? He has input in recruitment...he deals with the transfer business...and? That it?

"Fingers crossed we can now enjoy a strong end to the season and produce seven performances that will make you feel proud to be a Shrewsbury fan." Good to see such re-assurance. Hmmm

In my opinion that is a great open letter, well done Micky Moore.

He tried to tell us the signings have been good 🤣 did you see that bit? 🤣 Did tickle me, he shoehorned it in pretty rapidly, problem being when you look at the recent XIs, only Benning, Perry & Sraha are Moore signings.

It's well known that MM is a quiet man who gets on with things behind the scenes, therefore he's an easy target because he's not a great communicator like Liam.He actually alludes to this in this communication Perhaps we should just let him get on with his job, enjoy the updates and lets see were we stand come next season

Please Mr Moore, leave the recruitment up to PH. You just concentrate on filling in the paperwork. That's the easy part, far easier than identifying the talent and whether they will be good enough to actually improve the team.

MM may have to rethink how he fits into the club structure

I'm confused as to why people seem to think we could leave PH and CD to do the recritment on their own
Town have had a recruitment team for a long time. I doubt Hurst and Doig have ever operated in a system where they have full control and expectation to highlight players, scout them and sort contracts. That isn't their job. And it wasn't their job last time they were at Shrewsbury either

It’s pretty empty of any actual things that’s been done.
I guess it’s harder though to say ‘I’ve been meeting up with Joe Bloggs and his agent for the past 3 weeks’.
Let’s just hope he’s doing those things.

He's the owner and chairman isn't he, so who else should be paying his contract? Its what he is there for isn't it? So that's not much of an insight either. But I agree, not a lot said that any Town fan who has followed the club this season doesn't already know. But then I guess we're not going to get too much detail on players we may be targeting or on those who might not be contributing as much as we had hoped. And that's fair enough. We just have to judge him over time when looking to the players brought in, their contribution on the pitch and whether we can turn in a profit on one or two. Time will tell.

I don't really care that much for first team players, they come and go, I wanted to know what we're doing to all the age groups below the first team, but other than a change in location, it was a lot of nothing. You really have to hope we've implemented a philosophy across all age groups, matching the ethos of the first team, if not then nothing has changed, we've just got an expensive scout.

I assume that's sarcastic, who else would you expect to pay our players wages?

My impression from that was Roland had to provide an injection (like he did a few years ago with Grandison and JLAA) for the club to be able to afford Price. Who knows though, could just have been that Roland approved the use of funds!
