I know there are official help lines for the disaster fund, But cannot STFC or the B+A members do something at the Brizzle rovers game saturday? Remember last season when our friends down the road were in financial trouble + they walked around the pitch with a blanket + fans threw money in. Can we do something similar saturday? I do not want to get drawn in to a political argument over this, but surely you cant help but be saddened by the events of the last few days

It's a top idea, perhaps Whitters could pass this on to the powers that be? I'm pretty brassic at the momment but I had to give something to the cause the other night, I'd rather have it spent on a cause like that than paying the entry fee to Liquid

That should be "MAKE IT HAPPEN" don't know which is worse, my typing skills or Luke's goalscoring skills.

Although this is a good idea, it may be more efficient to donate direct to the Red Cross, Oxfam or an agency that is already working in the affected areas.
National newspapers also have appeals and you will be able to donate at Banks and Building Societies.

Hey guys I have been very busy lately doing whatever i can to help - this has ranged from cooking meals, transporting victims to hospitals, embassy posts and the airport and dropping supplies to the worst affceted area of Khao Lak. I spent yesterday with a Swedish volunteer visiting the hundreds of Swedish vistims in hospital (on behalf of their embassy who have yet to provide a full response). The Swedes make up a big part of the foriegn casualties - many hundreds in hospitals, and confirmed dead and also about 1500 missing - the task is truly enormous. Most are not only injured but completely traumatised after the loss of loved ones - you can imagine that they were very grateful as this is the first contact they have had in five days. I will be doing more of the same today. Khao Lak has been absolutely flattened and it is dificult to see how anyone could survive the onslaught of the Tsunami. Dead bodies everywhere (and the stench is overbearing). Some of my school colleagues are divers and they sppent yesterday diving to recover bodies - but there are so many and they are covered with debris that it is becoming increasingly difficult. Anyway - I have to go now as i am needed elsewhere. Top idea about the collection - billions will be needed. My school (in association with Dulwich, London) has set up a fund if you guys would like to contribute (either as individuals or as a group effort) to this then that would be great. The immediate details are on our school web site at: www.dulwich.ac.th/tsunami.aspThanks guys. Phuketshrew

The Government have upped our aid package to £50 million and the general public have handed over £25 million so far. As time goes on some new pictures are reaching Sky News and words can't describe some of the scenes. Large parts of Indonesia look like Nagaski after the Nuclear bomb. Whole towns and cities are just gone. The England cricketers have donated around £1000 each, and all Premiership teams have donated £50,000 each. Rangers and Celtic have donated £20,000.
