im sure it was Β£500 per team inclusive of vat so Β£1k for a game, and it was only 30 mins each way, I would have much preferred this new deal back then when I played , foxie was in my side at left back and limped off with a knee injury after about 2 mins I think he put a curse on that position with knee injuries which still remains, I suggest Paul Hurst goes around the pitch and pees in 3 of the corners, block 1 , block 6 & block 13 to lift the curse

Is this MM way of getting new signings this summer then? Picking up the local talent rather than the Irish talent. ππ
Btw, this is a bit TIC before anyone has a go thinking I'm being serious.

Does seem an awful lot that. But for sure its nice to give fans the opportunity to "play on the pitch". Glad I did it back in the day anyhow. I can't recall how long ago that was, mind; but was it really 500 notes per team back then?

Β£75 each for a squad of 16 feels a bit heavy, but I'm sure there will be plenty of uptake.
Our Sunday side did it a few years back, although I think it was about Β£35 each back then.

It doesnβt really make it clear. Is a booking two teams playing each other, or do you book a slot for your team for Β£1200 against an unknown team? Cant see it being the later you could get adults playing juniors or adults at way different levels. How did they do it in the past? Seem to remember local βfinalsβ being played on the old GM, used to drink in The Masonic and Iβm sure Instones played games there?

Is a booking two teams playing each other, or do you book a slot for your team for Β£1200 I'd assumed you are hiring a pitch so it's up you how you do it, the most obvious would be to get 22 people so you have 11 v11 which works out at Β£65 per person (inc VAT), plus you might get a few more to have subs to reduce the cost further. I'd agree its quite pricey but as with most things no one is forcing anyone to do it and it's a good initiative from the club but I expect it is going to price junior/youth sides out of it which is a shame. 4 of the 14 slots have gone already, will be interesting to see the take up

Compared to something like concert tickets it doesn't seem that pricey. Is reviving this an indication of the money position? Perhaps Liam has had employees coming up with ideas to raise money? Any other suggestions to raise money (not to save money)?

Any other suggestions to raise money (not to save money)? I think the fact 4 teams have actually booked before it was announced, the club must have been approached. How else would bookings be made before the announcement? Dot see any problem with it, thereβll be significant overheads, I think you still have to have medical cover, stewards, pitch care staff etcβ¦.. Some will be happy to pay to play and remember for years to come, if not donβt itβs not compulsory.

If it's Β£1,200 for two teams that's great value.
I somehow doubt it will be though.

Do these same people turn up at their local leisure centre expecting to have a team pitted against them when hiring out a sports hall or 5-a-side pitch? I suspect there may be a limit on the number of people allowed per booking but canβt see that being less than 32.

From memory, last time they did it, you got yourself a team together, and were chose a date, and opponents were given to you at random...
Would be good to see them do Sunday league finals again like back in the Gay Meadow days.

Clapham will think thats bizarre π Not if it was advertised as a cost per team, which it also was in 2019: www.foundationstfc.co.uk/play-on-the-pitch/

im sure it was Β£500 per team inclusive of vat so Β£1k for a game, and it was only 30 mins each way, Correct, back in 2017 it was Β£500 (although +VAT) for a squad which was for 60 minutes. If Β£1,200 is for the entire pitch and not per squad, then actually it's not really much of an increase, plus you get a full match, rather than 60 minutes www.shrewsburytown.com/news/2017/march/play-on-the-pitch/

Surely someone can confirm if it's Β£1,200 per team, or per game, or - 2x teams?

its state Β£1200+ vat per 2 hour slot
Seems clear to me , you book a slot and it's yours for 2 hours
Maybe it's per person π
there is an email on there for any enquiries , if only someone knew how to send one ππ

Of course, if a company responds to feedback then they would amend the article to clarify it as soon as they got a couple of questioning emails.
